Why not improve social skills and have sex with loads of different girls? See if it makes you happy in the long run. It may just be that after doing that you will come to lose interest in it.

The way you've worded it, though, makes it seem quite simple. I assure you, it is anything but.

Will improving one's social skills increase the likelihood that one finds the object of their desire? It's likely. But you have to define what that improvement actually *means.* Are you talking about improving confidence and approaching women? Do you mean making friends and having a social circle so as to gain "social proof"? Just a couple examples.

My point is, for anyone who has a genuine social difficulty, these things are really very complicated, and it tends to be a path of endless frustration. One can only feel sorry for a "high intimacy drive" guy who deals with social ineptitude.

What I mean, is that, and maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong, once you start having sex you realize that it's not what you thought it was going to be. Asking people over 30 how much they appreciate sex would be instructive.

More often than not, sex makes you feel ill. I used to have a very high sex drive but now thank G*d it has reduced and I'm considerably happier.

If you ask older people about anything, of course they're going to have different priorities and opinions on things. However, if you ask them about something like that when they were say 22, they may answer you differently. My parents are sticks in the mud now, but they partied HARD when they were young. Im thinking the OP is younger than a lot of us on this thread and may not find much value on what we have to say on this topic.

Idk if I have a high intimacy drive, but I always kick myself :kickingmyself: after I see a very attractive girl and didn't speak to her even if I didn't romantically like her.

I dont personally see anything wrong with having a high drive. Its probably just your hormone levels. I was like that in my early 20s and it had me at my wits end. On the bright side though I had tons of energy and was in the gym all the time. Nowadays not so much lol...

How could you not see anythign wrong with having a high intimacy drive? If you constantly have an obsessive desire for relationships while having a disorder that makes it impossible to be get a relationship then you will be constantly depressed. This is what happened to me.
