I prefer to read manga when it's only the story that interests me (Berserk, Monster, Death Note), I only see the anime for the awesome animation and action ; ).

Elfen Lied. it's the most amazingly thing i've ever seen. i'm surprised you guys don't even mention this show how can anyone not like it? horror, sci-fi, suspense, drama, romance, comedy, tradegy, fantasy, action.... its got everything. and so many different emotions to it i don't even know how to feel, from people getting their limbs ripped off in a bloody mess, to a sexually abused child, to a spilt personality "mutant", just wow.
anyways, that's definately my fav. But my other 2 favourites are death note and soul eater.
