Engaging in conversation on public transport..

I recently noticed a bloke who I don't know well but I've seen him around and he used to attend a religious place of worship when I was a kid.

My train/bus journeys to work are nice and easy and simple. I like it. I don't think I'll be reaching out to make conversation with this dude, even though he's OK from what I remember but I just prefer to read my book etc.. I don't want to engage with people whether that's me initiating (very rarely!) or someone talking to me unless it's, and this might sound crass, a beautiful woman who captures my attention!

Anyone else the same?

I don't blame you, having SA means having to set strong boundaries on stuff like that.

And sometimes you have to risk it and lower your guard, like when someone you're attracted to initiates the conversation.

I think all of us do that same kind of math.
