Everyone has potential to be good at something. You just have to try lots of things and find it. When I say try, I mean really. Dedicate to something, make every effort, and if your still no good, well then maybe your talent dosnt lie in that area and you can try something else.
Iv been there done that. Changed careers a couple of times and now I have found something I have some decent aptitude for.
Apart from serious things, like careers and that, if were talking little odds and ends, I can think of 2 things that I clearly excel at. Arm wrestling, and Street Fighter 2.
Since I was a kid, those 2 things iv been blessed with some freak talent. And I dont win in arm wrestling because of obvious reasons. Its not because im 6'8 and 150kg. Im average height and I do have a solid build but nothing special, certainly nothing that would indicate any extraordinary arm wrestling ability.
Never been beaten, taken on people of all shapes and sizes, Iv even armwrestled a few big shot NRL players (rugby leugue) I met in a bar once. My friend from high school has hit the big time, played at the top level for a few years. We armwrestled for old times sake, ofcourse now with his flash big muscles he thought he'd win. No. Then his NRL friends wanted to try, same.
