I wouldn't necessarily call it an addiction, more like a source of solace for me. This is my only escape from reality aside from lying on my bed, spacing out, and listening to music or playing video games. It relieves me to be able to communicate with others without having to worry about them judging my mannerisms, abilities to socialize (or lack of), and overall appearance. Here I can freely speak my heart out without having to think twice about what I'm going to or have said and can take all the time I need, whereas in the real world I have to roam around as a shadow - noticed, yet noticed, and when I am actually noticed people take the initiative to walk all over me.
