Never get the idea that you are being rejected. People reject things you might say, or do, but not you as a person. You are never your thoughts or actions, they make up part of you, but thoughts and actions can be changed. It may take a little while to improve your thoughts in the direction that you would like, but once you start changing your future thoughts for the better, then people will want to be around you. Everyone can change their thoughts, it is not a hopeless quest.
You're not the first person to declare that you have it worse than anyone, and you won't be the last. So many people wanting everyone to acknowledge they have it the worst.
If I tell you that yes, you really do have it the worst, will you be satisfied?
I think a very large number of us here have low self esteem...thus our SA. I don't believe anyone here has it any worse or better than others. Any degree of suffering from low self esteem is suffering no matter how you look at it.
the person you just described is at least half of the guys on this site. We all struggle with confidence. I think you do have low self-esteem, though, and you need to work on not hating yourself. I think the biggest thing people like us need to understand is we DID NOT choose to have a social anxiety disorder. It's not like one day we said, "hey, i'd like to have a bad anxiety disorder so it can ruin my life." We shouldn't hate ourselves, because this isn't totally our fault.
Practically all of us struggle with relationships. Read that virgin thread, some of the people on here have never had a girlfriend b4. I've only had one g/f before, and that was five years ago. We all have abnormal dry spells with women. Don't listen to guys that tell you it's so easy to get women, because i've talked to guys with girlfriends who know that it's not that easy. There are guys without SAD that struggle to get women too.
My self-esteem is pretty crappy. This is why I've never really bothered trying to get a girlfriend. Some of my friends started thinking I was gay, and made a joke about it at my friend's party. To be fair, my actions made it look like I was hitting on my friend, but I wasn't, at least not consciously, and I've never felt like I like guys in that way. Who knows, labels aren't really important. Point is, that joke sent me into what I believe was a panic attack. That screwed me up pretty good for a while. I've been having trouble making eye contact with this friend, who is like a brother to me by the way. I started over-analyzing every little thought I had an every action I did to the point where I completely lost any sense of self. Anxiety was rampant, and depression set in. I've come to realize I'm fine just the way I am. I'm now learning to like myself, and I no longer feel a need to constantly compare myself to others.
I am a guy and I totally hate myself. Feel that everything I do is never good enough and no good for anyone to be around anyone. This stems from when I was a teen where i got teased alot and when I try to do different activities nothing clicked in. This made me feel like crap and just want to keep to myself at home. Going out to social events to get to know ppl freaks me right out.
