Hmm, it's really interesting... but maybe you've overdone in some answers??... ;)

No my answers were not overdone, ignorance is'nt something I would have expected here - I really can't understand why you'd question my character like this considering that most of the questions involved interaction and although most people seem to be able to cope with some of them I cant cope with any (apart from the written test), I can accept that it's strange even here but surely possible.....no?

I just want to add that SA has prevented me from having a life and I'm not proud of it and I did not alter my answers just so I could say "my SA is worse than yours" ........if anything I was hoping it was less than everyones so I'd have knew others were going through what I'm going through and worse - which there are but apparently not too many!!!

Also I did'nt see the need for sarcasim, however I admit my choice of word was poor!

Finally that was my first post - I did'nt expect to be quoted(though I re-wrote it 3 times so that my dodgy punctuation wouldn't be brought up) just thought that it would be another score that everyone reading could compare with their own.

Dear Crumbler, it's a big misunderstanding! I didn't want to hurt you. My post had no ignorance or sarcasm, too!

Directly inversely - I wanted to suggest you that maybe it's not so bad with you... It's a pity we haven't understand ourself.

Well, it's sad that your phobia is so big. Don't submit it! ;)

Someone tell me what it means by 'Picking someone up'?

I took it as meaning picking somebody up in a club or something, like dating, but it could just mean literally picking someone up, so its a bit vague :?

I couldn't tell if I was over doing it or under doing it. I tend to read too much into the questions. Like when I pictured entering a room with others seated - I didn't really imagine all the possibilities - I just imagined a specific time when I went to my close friends house and knocked on the door - through the kitchen window she asked me to let myself in the front door. When I opened the door - it struck a chair. One of 17 chairs crammed into the room in a circle. The chairs were full of people all eating dinner with paper plates on their knees....and everyone of them was looking at me, smiling....the horror..........the horror............... So I was either to recall a horrible situation or not and that tended to be how I answered these questions. I couldn't really ask myself to be 'fair' and say how likely that was to happen.
I agree that picking someone up is vague. In the 1980's in California, in college, it tended to mean getting someone you are attracted to to leave a party with you or go on a date. Kind of meant leaving where you are (study hall, movie theatre, bar) to go be with someone you just met and that could mean anything from getting their phone number, going for coffee to casual sex.

I will say that no matter how accurate or inaccurate the scale is - I would have had a MUCH higher score when I was younger - especially teens and 20s. Practicing interactions - no matter how uncomfortable you are when you are in the middle of it - often can reduce some but not all kinds of social anxiety.

Oh, it should be "ourselves", I see now... Well, such a small mistake... ;)

49 (fear) + 49 (avoidance) = 98

A balanced result. The test may not be accurate but I guess it makes us think about the situations we experienced or not. It's a subjective response. In my case, I only did it once but I think my result would be higher in a second attempt because after this I'm feeling very anxious.
Anyway, I'm fucked up.

Well, well - I got only 73 points today! 8O

It's amazing, normally I get 90~103 points!

Hm, there are some questions, which are nearly duplicated or even not realated to SA at all (written tests - everybody is stressed by them usually...).

Hm; interesting.
