The Davinci Hoax

The movie, "The Davinci Code" is coming out today in some parts and I just wanted to remind people or tell people who don't know that this movie is FICTION, and highly offensive to Christian faith and believers in general. I say this because not everyone knows what it is about,(its true)
and might go see it thinking its a good, "religious" film or something. And I would hate for those people who thought that way to go and see that garbage w/out knowing what it is first. Especially any Christians or beleivers in Jesus. This movie is about a supposed, "Conspiracy" of the church to "cover up" the Supposed "truth" about Jesus and according to them the truth is that Jesus was married and maybe even had a son. That although Jesus was a "nice" guy that's about it.
This movie is full of lies that I hope people don't take as truth. For an example of the lies in the movie please go to this site:

one thing i dont understand, why you christians always think youre right, and that whats written in bible is truth, because its not.

Especially any rationalists or believers in mankind. This book is about a deity that supposedly created the world in six days, and that sends people to a good place called "heaven" or a nasty place called "hell" when they die. This "god" is described as a rather capricious and vindictive character. Allegedly, man was thrown out of a heavenly place called Eden for eating an apple (sic).

I think its an interesting theory, after all da vinci was a gnostic (hermetist, pythagoreon, freemason, call them what you will). I think the most interesting theory with regards to the idol christ is that the christ wasnt a man at all, but a black woman from ethiopia. Aparantly this was changed to the image of a man by roman catholics who deemed black people as inferior and woman even more inferior. Its an interesting theory.

The Da Vinci code is fiction but it might also be worth pointing out that you don't see the Bible on the Non-Fiction shelves in the bookshop either

I've read Da Vinci Code and it is certainly a gripping story which I thoroughly enjoyed for entertainment purposes. However I do think that the book/movie also has a very strong message

if you approach the book from a spiritual perspective but still take the book for face value then depending on your beliefs you will either be highly offended, defensive or become fascinated by the concept of Mary and the Holy Grail etc but the plot itself is irrelevant and pure fiction

the real message of the book is to take back, examain the foundations of your own belief, disregard all that you have ever been told, and seek the truth for yourself, no matter how difficult or challenging that truth is.

if you take "The Da Vinci Code" and it's plot for face value then your just as bad as those people who label it as evil, refuse to read it and campaign against the message of the plot, all without realizing the true message

You said it yourself - IT IS FICTION!!! It is not espousing what it believes is the truth, it is simply a work of fiction aimed to entertain. Get over it.
Are your beliefs so tenuous that a work of fiction can threaten them ? Where is your conviction ?

Zosima: its entertainment..well that's up to who watches it, personally I don't consider it as such and neither do quite a bit of other people. DID YOU, read what I PUT? DID ANY of YOU? I said I was putting it for the people who didn't know what it was about..and who when they knew may not want to go see it. Like I said before I put it so people who didn't know could make an informed decision before going. I had met a friend on here who was planning to go see it but he didn't know what it was about and then when I told him he decided not to go. I won't mention his name so that all of you won't attack him now..I can take all the "comments" pretty well, some I find very funny. :lol: But I guess also sad too.. So many of you are missing out on so much that God can give you! I will continue to pray for all of you, despite your hatred of me, I do not hate you, I hope you realize that! i went to see this today, ive also read the book... i thought it was pretty good. i mean regardless of whether it holds any truth i think its worthwhile to watch/read

I saw this today also, I have the book but haven't started reading it yet as I wanted to watch the film first.

I liked the film, it's pure entertainment. Not every one agrees with every thing in the movies, did you avoid brokeback mountain because it has homosexuals in it? do you avoid such shows as Sex in the city, desperate housewives and just about EVERY other show on TV because of their content?

If someone makes a film about something you don't like... don't pay attention, don't watch it, don't speak about it. It's not your business what other people do with their lives, or what other people watch.

I don't agree with people who wear fur but I don't go around preaching about it.

I don't believe in God, I don't believe in jesus and I don't care if you do or don't, it's none of my business.

The film was cool, I enjoyed it.

For the third and hopefully last time, I just wanted to tell CHRISTIANS AND BELIEVERS IN GOD, that they may find this film offensive and why. I KNOW many other people won't find it offensive, and have no problem w/people going to see the movie as long they know what they are going to see, AGAIN..I had a friend on here who was going to see it and didn't know what it was about and when I told him decided not to see it. For people like him, who wouldn't go see it if they knew what it is, for THEM, I put the topic. IF everyone now wants to do a review on it be my guest..I don't care. Knock yourselfs out. :wink:

Other people can do as they wish too as in all areas including choosing God or not. We have free will.

The movie + the book are some other stupid things that insult God. Any non-believer who wants to show his ideas can write sth and put an official name to it,such as Da Vinci,so as to be successful. Meow that is so sad that you think that way! I know we are completely going off topic here but I just had to tell you that you don't have to be alone, God is here for you and for anyone. He has done so much for me in my life, both for me and my family, but the greatest thing by far He has done is allow me to feel His presence and know Him for who He truly is. To know His great love for me and for all of us. I encourage you to seek after Him and I know you too can have the relationship w/God that I have as well. I am nothing special..I was in the gutter and my life was in the gutter too but God lifted me out of all that. The same thing He did for me He can do for anybody.

No.it isn't true! I'm not alone! Like Mary,I've got many proofs of God presence in my life. It's so pitty that you're alone. Why don't you go to Him? He's so nice and simple,don't fill your head with complicated theories!

If I say sth offensive for a favourite actor/singer of yours,even if I claim that it's for entertaintment,you will be very angry right? Well,that's how we feel and it's more important,because Jesus is the Lord and not just a famous person,full of sins.

The Da Vinci Code is just as possible as the bible. And let's not forget how the christians used to persecute others for not believing in there religon, and yes as other religon's have too. This is the problem with most religon's...evryone reckons there right!!......and can't be told otherwise, and nearly always force there beliefs on others.
Thus people argue about who is right....and sometimes, well often it leads too war.
This is why i dislike religon.
Just my view.

Also I know many people have claimed to be "Christian" and have persecuted others in the name of Jesus, but these people were not real christians..they were lunatics. Jesus never told anyone to go around persecuting people, he told us to forgive our enemys and to love them. Therefore they were not true followers of Jesus. :wink: He did however tell us to spread the gospel around the world, but he knew you could not force someone to believe in their heart, and God never forces people to believe in Him. It is a personal decision.
