as degrading as this is...listening to puff daddy's 'no way out'. it was my first album i ever bought, i was about 7 or something...i thought i owned the world singing along to swear words pretending to be black. i actually still like the album and realise that he actually is (was) quite talented.

I think around Kindergarten was when I started listening to music. The first band I ever liked was Blink. (the older albums mainly) I still listen to them, but not as much. It's still a really nostalgic thing, so totally a huge part of my history.

The first bands I listened to were Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and the Beatles, Nick Drake, later Tom Petty, King Crimson and Fleetwood Mac, all from my Dad's record collection. This was when I was really young, like early to late 80s.
The first albums I owned were by Nine Inch Nails, Joy Division, The Smiths, Nirvana, Hole and Blind Melon - early 90s

Dear God I feel as old as Methuselah, I was listening to these songs

The Smiths have a reputation for being depressing but I think their songs
are incredibly beautiful. This one for example is so romantic. I can't think
of a nicer way to go than being smashed to death with someone you love.
Except for maybe Vincent Price embalming himself next to his dead wife
at the end of "The Abominable Dr Phibes". You can't get any more
romantic than that.

LOVE all these bands especially THE SMITHS :D .....

JOY DIVISION also takes me back

"In fear every day, every evening
He calls her aloud from above
Carefully watched for a reason
Painstaking devotion and love

Surrendered to self preservation
From others who care for themselves
A blindness that touches perfection
But hurts just like anything else

Isolation, Isolation, Isolation

Mother, I tried, please believe me
I'm doing the best that I can
I'm ashamed of the things I've been put through
I'm ashamed of the person I am

Isolation, Isolation, Isolation

But if you could just see the beauty
These things I could never describe
These pleasures a wayward distraction
This is my one broken prize

Isolation, Isolation, Isolation"

fucking amazing........
