I got some laundry done today - even ironed shirts.

I've been avoiding this for weeks - down to my last pair of undies.

Why do I do this all the time? Maybe it's because I'm so concerned about what others might think of my appearance and wanting my clothes to look right, fit right, etc. I worry that I will mess up my clothes in the wash - shrink them, wrinkle them beyond hope, and not be able to press my shirts right so they don't look all creased and wrinkley and make me look stupid.

I kept this in my mind all day as I did my laundry and used it to pay attention and do what I needed to do - instead of distracting myself and screwing things up.

I actually got something done for a change - and feel good about the results!

Thats great. :) sometimes the smallest things seem like climbing a mountain to me when my mood hits a low. I best get some washing done myself, thanks for the reminder! :)

Congratulations :)I find It can be so hard to get the motivation going to even do basic things sometimes.Things seem so much like hard work or pointless when your depressed.

I call it tomorrow syndrome :D Where you constantly put stuff of till the next day,but when you finally force yourself to just crack on it can make you feel better.

Don't you have a magic corner where you chuck the dirty clothes and a few days later they appear back clean, ironed and neatly folded?:D

naw...I chuck 'em in the corner, then buy new clothes....the pile just gets bigger and bigger while my bank account gets smaller and smaller as I avoid the whole mess...

I need to find a bigger place to live so I have room for all the clothes and bicycles....and the shoes - did I mention shoes?
