I apologize if I have put this in the wrong section but its my first thread. Who here uses skype?

Sometimes typing out how you feel doesn't help that you need to really talk to someone..

I'm half considering maybe calling Lifeline but then I'm worried about what I'm going to say...

Does anyone here have trouble talking on the phone?

I worry what I say sounds stupid, and the sound of my voice...

When you get those people ringing up trying to get money off you, I always get asked if my parents are home. I'm 23 years old... I put on the act as if I am a kid and say my parents are at work, and that I don't know what time they'll be home. Just so I can get off the phone... But the funniest one, I got was after I told the caller my parents weren't home. The caller replied "Oh ok, well I'll try again later in the afternoon. Enjoy your school holidays". Rofl XDD

Sorry I kind of went off topic back there. What I was aiming for was that, skype could help us with becoming more over things? or just getting to know people and feeling ok talking to people.

Another thing I might add about skype is, well, is anyone having trouble trying to add a contact? Yes, I know how to before someone tells me I'm a noob. I do now how, its just the box opens to let me add someone but it does this never ending loading thing...and nothing happens. I heard that other people have been experiencing that trouble too but I don't know if anyone has come up with a solution or not to fix this problem.

The only thing that I have found useful was something that a mod had posted. But it was a temporary 'Add a Contact' button thing...

Oh well, hopefully Skype will fix it soon >.>

I'm a BIG fan, mate.

Skype has fixed my life in many ways. Making random contact is magic

Since playing with this since 2003 (before video was available), I've spoken and gone to meet mostly immigrants in London... but I've been to other countries, only because of Skype.

I lot of people like to keep it to typing. It all works for me.

A lot of people (family) see it as a very geeky thing, and stick to their TINY portable fone.

I use Skype, but currently only really for one person. I find chatting to be uncomfortable, but I have done it before with success. :)

I recently tried Google Hangouts, too, and that's even more intense!

I have it but seldom use it. Most of my contacts are in countries with poor internet signals so it doesn't work too well.

I might use it, if I knew how. I'm not sure. It's a little unnerving, that much exposure, baring oneself to the ether, warts and all. Maybe if the right person came along, someone who doesn't scare easily and has a strong stomach, but how likely is that?

I love Skype, but only the voice chat stuff. No way on the video part! I can be a huge blabbermouth and talk for hours on end! :D

I want to use this with all of us!

I'm heading for interview soon. I'll return home forlorn, probably turning into an animated fool while I'm there, making an idiot of me as I usually do.

My Skype ID is on the my profile. If we get linked, I'm often willing to chat when the time is right. I'll reveal video when I feel like it. I truly think it's beneficial! I don't mind appearing an SA failure. I like the idea of multi-chats

I have a "Skype-phobia" ::p: I'd rather meet someone in person than over Skype. Can't really explain why, but i really don't like seeing myself while conversating.

I´m ok with skype as long as I don´t have to use it. But I have been asked by one employer for a skype interview/w. webcam, so I didn´t reply anymore. I´m afraid this damn practice will be becoming more and more widespread. I can do meeting in person, but I don´t want skype!! Maybe if I knew that I am pretty I wouldn´t mind, or at least not that much.

I fixed my problem I was having with Skype. Lol

It was to do with putting a password on IE..

At the time I was paranoid about some searchbar thing so I put a password on my IE. For some reason that stuffed up my Skype from adding new contacts.
