Hi,

I have been on lots of anxiety/depression meds. None of them worked for me. I dont knwo if they were going to work or not anyways but i think my drug abuse had cenceled the meds out.

It is never a good idea to mix substances and meds. Alcohol, im not sure with Sertraline. All the meds i have been on it says you are advised to stay away from drink...but i never did and it didnt make a difference.

Again about the MDNA...i would strongly try to recommend staying away from it, as all the chemicals in your body when taking drugs may effect you. It never effected me, but if you think realistically - we dont actully know what the chemical mix can do to ourselfs (on the inside).

With smoking joints it wont effect you as per say, but smoking joints can produce anxiety and paroinoia. How long have you been smoking joints? And how much would you smoke? Alot or occasionally?

I am currenly in addiction counselling for my drink/drug abuse. I know the high is lovely but what made me want to stop is the come downs...as i would begin to feel doubley as anxious and paroniod. How long have you been taking drugs? Occasionally? Often? Do you find you become anxious when you come down of drugs?

Also have you tried any other routes for overcoming anxiety eg. Therapy?

Take Care

:)

I've been on Zoloft (Setraline) for about 8 months now. It has helped some with my social anxiety, but only for a while. Once my body adapted I would have to increase the dose (150 mg now & the highest is 200 mg) so that in my opinion is one downside.

Another is that it does increase your appetite some. I'm not a pot smoker, but my friend who's also on Zoloft is. She's put on a ton of weight. I don't know if the weed/boozing is interacting with the Setraline or if she is just feeling down about her weight gain, but emotionally she seems worse than ever.

On occasion, I drink socially (2 glasses of wine at most). I haven't had any problems, but in all seriousness it is just occasionally. Like last night I had a mug of beer for St. Patty's day & I'm feeling fine today. It might be different if I did it every night, was partying on weekends, or what have.

Take care of yourself.

I am just worried that if i drink alcohol now that im on sertraline that i can become sick, like puking and a miserable drunk.. and no one wants that..
I actually havent done weed in a couple months because of school.. but im planning to do it a bit this summer (like once a week) because i love it!
mdma i have never tried but my friends have been asking me to do it with them.. and i want to do it, its not like theyre pressuring me.. but if im going to have a bad trip due to the sertraline than i might as well stay away from it.. what do u think?
and yes i am doing therapy at the moment

I dont know about Steraline, but all the anti-depressants i have been on, drinking never made me sick. I am a big drinker and honestly, meds never made a difference to either making me sick or making me doubly drunk.
But if you are worried maybe you should contact/talk to your doctor.

Can i just add that peer pressure doesnt just come from friends being like "ah go on try it" or "its a good buzz, give it a go" etc. It comes also from simply having people around you that do or are doing it. Peer pressure is like temptation... If you think about it, if your friends wernt doing it...would you be thinking of doing it?

I dont think that you will have a bad trip from mixing MDMA with your meds, but that is my opinion. From all the drugs i have taken, nothing bad happened me. But that is me. Different people react differently, so i dont know about you.

Again like i have said in my previous post... I found that the progress meds had were canceled out by taking drugs. So i would not recommend taking any kind of drug while on any sory of med.

Be careful what ever choice you decide to make...

I've been on a number of anti-depressants, drank away on all of them and it never did me any harm. Whether that'll apply to you is another story. Sertraline is the best medication I've ever been on for SA/Depression and I hope to be on it in the near future. The Cipralex I'm on now is rubbish.

I've wanted to try Sertraline/Zoloft. May I ask why you went off it if it was working?

Doctor's orders, Deus. Because I was switching to another anti-psychotic he wanted me to be on an anti-depressant which didn't cause many complications. Bad move if you ask me. My SA has never been worse.
