Robinul .. another question!

Hi

I’m female, in my late 40’s & have tried many many treatments over the years for my plantar HH & and after trawling the net/reading up on it, am now interested in getting the medication Robinul. My question however is this: can anyone recommend a website where I can purchase it over the internet as its not licenced where I am. Also how much would it be and postage costs and how long would delivery take (I’m in Ireland).. I suppose though those questions are answered on the relevant website!… (sorry I'm just keen!)... but yeah its just I’d like a site recommendation as I’ve heard you shouldn’t purchase medication over the web you see.

Thanks in advance!

p.s.

Also does Robinul come in capsule form? Just curious.. …. Also… what about getting it in the cream form, as bizarrely I have HH in one foot only (having had operations but it came back in one foot… Grrrr)…. so am thinking perhaps I only need the cream, i.e., to have it localised. New to this country and the Doc and Pharmacist appear to know nothing, I was a bit shocked!…… also I possibly can get it in the UK if need be….. so could perhaps someone in the UK could enlighten me as to whether or not this is now available in the UK, either tablet form or cream I mean… again many thanks. :)

So you have HH only on 1 foot? Interesting. Well I can't recommend any websites, but I can tell you it comes in a tablet form, and I don't think it comes in any other forms such as cream. Robinul reduces the body's ability to sweat as a whole, so I don't know if it would be the best solution if you are only sweating on 1 foot.

Hi!

Avert is the Canadian name for glycopyrrolate (=Robinul) and can be obtained from pharmacy.ca

The website would answer your questions. You might first try the Secure wipes, which are a topical version of glyco. Sounds like it's worth trying if your HH is so focused.

I'm sure I remember reading on one of the posts here that there is a cream version of glyco in the U.K.

Good luck!

Hi there,

By operation I think you mean you did ETS? I know of someone else that had ETS done for her palmar sweating, the result was that one hand was bone dry and one just sweated like before. Kind of strange, you'd almost wonder if they operated right (which might not always be the worst thing if they didn't btw).

Anyway, OT, you can get glycopyrrolate cream (that is, it is out there) but from the ones that tried it on this forum before I gather it's not that effective as a cream.

To still minimize your intake of medicine given the fact that you have HH on one foor only you could try the glyco-wipes I guess. Some have succes with it although I think they were intended first and foremost for cranial HH.

Another thing you could try is ionto with a solution of glycopyrrolate on your feet, although that might be a bit tedious. The benefit of it is that while the regular side effects of anticholinergics last just a small period of time (1 day/2days) while the remission of sweating in the treated area lasts significantly longer than that. Still, I'm not an expert on that, I know Pinker has some experience with it so maybe you could ask him.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the replies. Yes I have it one foot as I had surgery (2 sep ops) back in 1991 and it worked in both feet... but... 6 months later it came back in my right foot... prior to that in 1989 I had 2 surgical ops for my hands.... tho incisions were made in the armpits, had lungs collapsed etc... however not long after I discovered I could have had keyhole surgery.... anyhow, the upshot is, for me it was WORTH it... every single scar (& I'm terribly vain!!).

For 6 months of my life I knew what it was like to be 'normal' (on the HH front!)... i.e., I didn't profusely sweat in hands or feet.. until it came back as I said 6 months later in one foot (I went for a 2nd op, came round and knew straight away it hadn't worked).. unlike previous times when I woke up dry and warm... bliss....... I can't have any further surgery... so am always seeking a solution to my 'plumbing' problem... (one leaky foot)... hence would like to try these Robinul tablets..

Over the years I've tried everything (prior to surgery I mean).. I was 27 when I had my first op..... (suffered for so long, crazy)... Drionic, ionsis (as an Outpatient at a hosp), Androl Forte, Odaban, Pro Banthane, Beta Blockers, Acupuncture etc.

I even tried Botox on my leaky foot last year which didn't work... (I was having other surgery at time and so out for the count ;) - I just thought I'd give it a go.. even if it had worked it would only have been temporary, i.e., a few months... tho I figured as I'd had it done at the beginning of Summer I'd have a reprieve as I find wearing sandals uncomfortable/dangerous.. i.e., slippy.. not least seeing the beads of sweat!).

As surgery was successful for me I'd recommend it of course...rather than 'piddling about' with creams, lotions, potions, ionis thingy..... I feel for everyone on here... esp the youngsters..... when I was younger I thought everyone had it! (HH) lol and thought how do other people manage! As I didn't know different.. at about age 16 I started going to the Docs on my first of MANY visits..... was told at the age I'd grow out of it!!! (I knew I wouldn't, it was too profuse).... I resent anyone saying its stress or anxiety related...... I must admit, could have slapped 'em with a wet fish (or a clammy hand! ha ha)......

Anyways I may head over to that site to order some Robinul...... like I said I will keep on trying.............. hope everything works out for you guyz and you get the results/quality of life you all deserve. To me surgery was a walk in the park and the 'down time' with it FAR outweighs the pressures and uncomfortableness (if there's such a word!) i.e., with body thermostat etc that HH (symptoms) brings as I was always extremely cold and clammy because of the HH.. now I just have one cold and clammy foot! Grrrrrrr (not to mention the social stigma/feelings, i.e. feeling like a social outcast... oh the stories I could tell, thank god its all in the past.. and no internet them times either btw so I knew of no-one with my freaky problem).

Thanx again guyz. :)
