alright
so i don't intend to go, or better to say I want to avoid it at all costs... But its not that simple well actually it is but the thing is
i had almost never participated in any after school activities like trips etc.
And when i tell my classteacher (possibly in front of the class) that i'm not going he'll probably be like 'omg what's wrong with you, u never do anything with us why the hell u don't wanna go?!' and what the hell could i tell him??? others (students AND teachers) will ask me that too...
Before i've said 'i just dont feel like it' for not going somewhere, but it already sounds stupid
I know its not a big deal but to me it is i feel trapped... What should i do??? thx if any1 read this

I would avoid it too. Only thing is you want to give a reason, that sounds reasonable. You don't want to come over in a bad way. If they ask me why I don't go with them to a party or whatever I just tell them it's none of their business. That always shuts em up. Yeah, it sounds rude, but there's nothing wrong with that. ;)

If you're afraid of being confronted in such an uncomfortable situation, maybe you can just say you're going and not go. I know its not the best of options.

Actually I thought of doing that and it WOULD the best of options if the prom was the last time I officially have to see any1 of them. Besides i think you have to pay sth in advance

I can't really tell that to my teacher can I? ::eek:: And the 'it's none of your business' line doesn't really work in my case... But in the end i'll probably have to try my luck with this one

Offcourse it will work, just tell it in a little frustrated way. What can he/she do ? You don't insult them with that. Teachers are very 'powerful' indeed, and they can punish you for everything you do wrong, but not for that. Because it really isn't his/her business. They can't force you to give a reason why you're not going to a d*mn prom, lol. But you can always rephrase it. What about: "I don't want to tell you" ? Sounds mysterious. :) Though, the easiest thing to say would be: "I got plans." :) Think in yourself: You're not forced in anything, you can bail out, without giving any explanation.

Just wanted to let you guys know I actually went although i thought i'd
NEVER go
and
it wasn't all that bad. ok it wasn't really that good but it wasn't that bad i expected it to be anyway
It's not like in the us where you're supposed to bring a date (or it's like that only in teen movies??) so.. wasn't that bad
BUT
I don't think i'd miss anything if i didn't go
so if someone is wondering if they should go my advice is: you can go it's not bad, but if you're a sa-er (probably are considering you're reading this), it wont be a big loss for you if you just stay at home (and save like 600$ you'd spend on clothes btw :D)
