hi
i have read pregabalin is good for social anxiety and general anxiety. and helps make people more talkative. however i have noticed this is mostly from people who say they have tried ssris and which did not help them/work for them or people who say they cannot take ssris.
i was wondering if anyone had had some success with ssri but then found pregabalin to work even better.
or if anyone had tried ssri and pregabalin

ive never taken an ssri before, but I have have tried pregabalin (lyrica). It does help social anxiety but it made me feel very weird... started to get memory loss and sort of a hazy feeling... definitely lack of clarity of thinking. I tried it out for a while, but eventually just stopped taking it because it was not really what I wanted to keep doing.

Thanks for this!

Pregablin is new on the block for me. Who told you to take it, Waine?

It's in the group of antidepressants. Big people make decisions for me. Some left behind, and new introduced. That makes me an experiment / research project.

I think I'm the one and only person who should make these decisions on dosing and timing, dropping something.

Hi there, after reading this post and replies, I just wanted to clarify that Pregabalin is an anticonvulsant not an antidepressant.

It is also first line treatment for fibromyalgia. Here in the uk and the European Union it is licensed to treat generalized anxiety disorder. I use it for that reason and also social anxiety. It is the best drug I have ever tried for both purposes. In my opinion it obliterates anxiety better than Diazepam or most of the newer benzodiazepines.

Any questions you have I would be pleased to answer.

I have lyrica for social anxiety. It works well but seem to get a out of the system after a few hours.
I feel good up to lunchtime then I feel worse until I get home from work and take my second dose.
Maybe a tripple dose would work better,to have one at lunchtime aswell.
