I really admire your dedication in writing. It takes a certain mindset to be able to write a novel - let alone write one thats apparently great!
Over the years I've often thought/come up with ideas for books/novels but have never followed through. I accept that I don't fit into that category of 'Author'.
I tip my hat to you Sir.. you do what I cannot.

Thanks PugofCrydee! Us writers are a needy bunch. We need to hear sometimes that we're not just putting out junk because that's what it feels like often while we're putting together a story. You'd be surprised at how many people thought they weren't authors until they started putting their thoughts and ideas on paper (or on a computer screen). Maybe give it a try! But I also understand. People who can play musical instruments with ease remain a mystery to me. I tip my hat to them because it's something I wish I could do naturally.

My mother's been going stir crazy and is trying to put part of it on me. She's still under a "no driving" rule by her doctor until her new medication has leveled out. She hates when this happens because there's never a timeline to say when things are okay. It's always just waiting it out. I hate it too because then she gets bored and calls me to complain about it and everything and everyone else. Yesterday she called to complain about my father, yet again. She wanted me to come over today, but I don't think I'll even be able to make it since I have to now go grocery shopping (I hate shopping every week, but with in-laws being here every weekend this month plus my husband working a ton of overtime, everyone's eating up the food in the house.) and I have the rest of my to-do list to finish from what I didn't get done yesterday. So yeah, I can't exactly just pull 3 - 4 hours out of my schedule to go to my parents' today.

It's situations like this that really show how different my mother and I are. While I wouldn't love being in her position healthwise, all that time spent at home I would love. Maybe not her home, but my home sure. Don't even get me started what I would do if I were her living in her home.

Had a very social month and was in such good mood but now I can feel my lack of motivation and depression coming back. Not wanting to get up and out of bed. Not feeling motivated to clean or get the house back to where it was before my busy few weeks. Wish I knew what to do to get back to being okay.

Hello Sammie! What did you do to have such a social month? As they say "sometimes is ok to not be ok". Don't despair and allow yourself to be in a not so good mood.

Maybe you (your mind) just need some time? You could set some small goals each day to help yourself into a routine in an easy way. Small feats since if you don't feel well, big ones can overwhelm and discourage. Stuff like doing exercise or cleaning one room per day instead of the whole house, etc. Whatever that makes you feel "active", really :)

But therapy is always an option too if you can't find a way to fix it by yourself. Even more if it is depression.

It's been over 2 years since I vacationed anywhere, almost a year since I took a day trip anywhere too. I'm itching to get away, but wanted to stay closer to home since I didn't want to waste half a day driving. We wanted to go camping, but every single freaking campsite in a 40-mile radius of where I live is completely booked for weeks on end. It's ridiculous. I feel superficial for being angry about it, but it just sucks. We're constantly working 50+ hour weeks and then when we actually want a break away from everything we can't take one. Guess I'm just going to try to plan a bunch of day trips. 🤷‍♀️

These last 3 days have been nothing but shitty. Had to work overtime to cover someone's butt at work (to no one's fault of their own, just ended up falling into my hands. It just sucked.), so I wound up working 10 hours, then the day after that I had to work my scheduled 12 hour shift where I didn't leave work til 2:30am, then I had to turn around and come right back in at 1:30pm yesterday to work my scheduled shift in the other lab after only getting about 4 - 5 hours of sleep. And of course everything that could go wrong yesterday went wrong. I was so frustrated at the end of my shift I actually expressed my frustrations to my foreperson and am pretty much demanded a retraining on a certain procedure because the other half of it wasn't even taught to me and I didn't know anything about it. That was a huge oversight on their end and it left me pretty pissed off because it kept me from properly doing the job, I nearly screwed up one part of it so bad where I almost lost samples. I mean, technically I did lose some samples, but they were less important ones so it wasn't something to fully sweat over. But I still made a pretty bad mistake and it cost me 30 more minutes of work I had to do to replace labels, scan in numbers, and put in all my data entry. I didn't get out of work until late again last night, around 10:30pm. Add all that on top of this wicked awful heat (it's been above 90 degrees for 4 days straight now, with 2 more days to go) and everything I've had to do at home, because being at home is like working another job right now and quite frankly I'm getting sick of it. So yeah, I'm freaking exhausted. 😩

I've seen someone asking: "if a heterosexual man falls in love with a transgender woman, is he a man or gay?

Apparently "gay" is a sex now: male, female and gay. And maybe lesbian is another species, who knows. Hope they're introduced in the next Elders scrolls as playable.

🥴🥴🥴

Yea people seem pretty confused these days..
Identify as a pork chop if you want to, but it doesn't change what you are biologically.

On a semi-related topic look at what rabbit hole the 'identity' thing has led to in sport, in particular women's sport. You now have biological males, identifying as women, getting a nip and tuck, then competing as women.. and completely dominating! It's completely ridiculous.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to Hollywood shoving more politically correct BS down our throats.. hmm.. perhaps an overly effeminate gay male Thor for the next movie? I wonder how that would go..

These days I almost feel like it's wrong to be a white middle aged male with masculine traits.
White - can't feel ok about that.
Middle aged - can't be ok with that as a male, if you look for a date you're a creep compared to middle aged or older women who are coined 'cougars'..
And masculine - can't be masculine either.. it's 'toxic'.

Hmm.. maybe I should identify as a black, purple, green and polka-dot, non binary, gender fluid, but mostly female transgender? Does that cover all bases?..

Ok, rant over.

Biology can be tricky, many biologist would say there are more factors other than genitalia or chromosomes when it comes to determine one's sex. Also independently of biology, there's no reason to harass or treat them like sh¡t (not saying that you do).

There's intersexual people, having characteristics of both sexes for example. I do think biology has a role, but not a simple one to explain.

I understant your concern, it is true that they have advantage. As far as i know, their treatment as well as the reassignation surgery have an impac on their bodies like reducing muscular mass, but even then, they're above the average woman. But what could be done? making a transgender category? dunno if they're enough to have own teams on each sport. Pair them with men? well, for the same reason, they would be at disadvantage (not to speak of how disrespectful that would be). But i understand, doesn't have an easy solution.

Well, the only think i'm not ok with is changing an existing character to a specific model just to appeal a specific group of ppl (independently of how big it is). But not against having an overly "effeminate" gay (or straight) male, people like that exist so why not 🤣 . What i don't like is when they introduce an LGTB+ character whose whole development revolves around it's sexuality, like gay ppl are more than being gay lol.

Make characters that are interesting by their own feats instead of having them living under the shadow of the original.

I remember all these people that when they see a gay character be like: "WHY DO THEY HAVE TO FORCE AN UNNECESARY HOMOSEXUAL CHARACTER INTO THE STORY". Maybe because gay ppl exist (i'm one of them, hello ✋:D) and let's be honest, most romances/sex scenes are completely unnecesary even for heterosexual characters xD. Unless it is a romance story, i don't see how is needed all this "boy likes the girl and girl likes the boy" subplot.

Besides, there's plenty of cis/heterosexual characters, no? 🤣

And i know some people would itroduce LGTB+ characters just to gain numbers but surely that is preferable to pretending that we don't even exist.

These days I almost feel like it's wrong to be a white middle aged male with masculine traits.

I'm not going to lie, i've seen people rejecting white or "masculine" men for relating them to other (toxic) men. Which imo is not very intelligent.

But i've also seen ppl rejecting others for their skin color or men being harassed and called freaks for not being "masculine"

I think there are extremes on both sides which are extremely unhealthy. Both seem to have this "in order to prove that i'm good, i'm going to discredit that which is not like me"philosophy.

BTW i use "" when refering to masculinity and feminity because i think they create more tags, and their scale is very dependant on society, personality, country, etc. To some, a man that simply shaves would be less masculine than one that doesn't, thus creating tags like "metrosexual" which was very used as "i like to take care of my appearance BUT IM NOT GAY OK?"...wtf cares, do what you want lol.

Personally i think that if you are (and identify as) a man, whether you shave, grow a beard, or paint your nails, you're still a man.

Also let's stop pretending every "effeminate" man is gay, plenty are heterosexual and many women like them (sexually speaking).

Hmm.. maybe I should identify as a black, purple, green and polka-dot, non binary, gender fluid, but mostly female transgender? Does that cover all bases?
😂 There's nothing wrong in being a middle aged white man, who has "masculine" traits. And those who think otherwise, may not be so different from the extremes they complain about :p

I've suffered a lot thanks to homophobia (physical and mentally), to the extent that 90% of my mental disorders developed thanks to it. And not for that i think that every straight man is homophobe. In fact all the friends i have/had are/were heterosexual or bisexual lol and not a single one of them judged me for being gay.

Oh and there are homosexual homophobes. So making a Personal profile based in 2 characteristics, as i said, is not smart :p

These are my general thought based on what you commented, not saying that you are like all these people

What 'guy' would that be Loyal?

Would that be a guy with an opinion? Or do I have to walk down Kings Cross during mardi gras holding a rainbow flag dancing?

It's ok for people to have opinions and views that don't match your own.

I'm glad you added this, because on the topic of homosexuality etc, I am extremely accepting of others right to their own sexuality. To the point actually of I don't really care who you identify as, or who you prefer to have sex with. I see the individual as just that, when I talk to someone I don't think 'oh this guy likes to have sex with ** or identifies as **.. I have had friends and have close relatives who are gay and I love them very much and are very protective of them. God help you if you hurt them...

I actually wrote a much longer post agreeing with much of what you've said, some I disagreed with. But I really don't like discussing this sort of thing over text as it can be misread and/or misinterpreted so I didn't post it.

I think that society in general needs to stop bitching at each other and just accept people are different. It's just as ok to be white, male and masculine as it is gay and effeminate (or not lol)

Im fairly sure you know exactly what 'guy' I mean. Its not a matter of just my opinion when it comes down to basic human rights and decency.

But hey, I cant change your mind, and you're free to post whatever you like, just like someone and her homophobic posts was
