Post your random thoughts/feelings etc

Yup same here. My boss has organized some sort of team building activity in a couple of weeks and they planned it on a SUNDAY. I can't expressed how distressed I am that I'll have only Saturday to recharge from the week and then I have to go on a 6 days week that will start with an entire (unpaid) Sunday of socializing with people I already interact with about 45 hours a week for f***'s sake.

Nothing tragic, I'll survive, but it still sucks very, very much.
That would make me very angry.

I find many extroverts often don't even bother to make the most minimal effort to try and understand the fact, that introverts recharge their batteries from being ALONE.

It is documented in so many medical studies, articles and books - therefore there is really no excuse - for the ignorance of so many extroverts, in regards to the other half of the population being introverts.

I know the Western world is set up and geared towards extroverts - because you need to be around people as much as possible to make money/business profits.

However, it is surprising how many extroverts simply do not believe that introverts have just as much a right to spending time NOT being around people, as they believe it is their right to DEMAND other people, BE around them constantly.

Well, to be fair, it's not like they're doing it to be ****s or anything; they simply want to bond with others and help others bond with each other, which is a very human desire. Especially in the work place, where lone wolves and the isolated can affect work flow and productivity, which can affect profits, which can affect how many people can keep their jobs and livelihoods. Not trying to shut down your opinion BlueDays, just trying to offer a different point of view.

I can understand being an introvert; I very much like my own space and recuperating from being so social (well, in comparison to how I usuallly am, at any rate) in my day-to-day life. And it does remind me of those times in school when teachers would tell students to split up into groups and how much I hated that. So, Pacific_Loner, just go out and, when people try to talk to you, just give a simple "Hello" back and let them know that you're not exactly a social person. Heck, make a joke out of it; it'll get some tension off of your chest and it'll lighten the mood around you as well. I'm sure a lot of other people are tired and would much rather be home and resting, so I think they'll appreciate a good joke. Who knows? You might even make a friend out of it.

I don’t like the new lay out of this website. Why change things if they are not an improvement?
I did not like the 2nd last change or this one either. I always use the option to go into the old format whenever I come in.

Thank (insert deity of choice here) there is still an option to get into the old format!
If that ever disappears, I wouldn't bother coming in here, because the new format is very time consuming ! it takes too long to find whatever thread or post you are looking for. :eek:h:

These days, free time is precious! - nothing is worth wasting time on something that would take 4 times as long as it used too.

My cat ingested bleach Saturday night, she has become extremely ill. The vets were all closed till Monday, the only ones open were too far for her to travel to by bus. I'm taking her to a local one today, but I fear now it's too late. I don't think she's going to make it.

Oh no, Puma.
Is that the kitty you put in a YouTube clip and posted in it in here? I remember that one.
Don't automatically think she won't make it yet - if she is generally very healthy to begin with - that will put her in a good position to recover.
Good luck, and let us know how she goes, if you can.

She's gone. Her lungs were filled with water, and the damage to her heart too great. I had to put her to sleep.

I don't know what I'm going to do. She was everything to me. I've lost people and pets before, but not like this. Every struggle and pain was fine as long as she was safe, and my mind keeps wanting to pet her to solve this too, but she's not there.

I'm so sorry, Puma.

Bless her, she's not in pain anymore.

sad for your loss, Puma

Thank you, everyone. I miss her more than I can convey in words, but I owe it to her and everyone to try and be okay.

I can't quite recall the video. Was it a white/black/beige cat? That was her.
