I've got a guide book to life. Its called Buddhism. I have some excellent teachers who guide. If I follow the teachings then I should be OK.

I feel as though I need to follow the teachings 24 hours a day. My SA and consequent behaviour alienates me from other people and society if I deviate from the path.

As life choices go its an excellent choice.

Okay, wow. 2016 is not a great year for celebrities. So far David Bowie, Brian Bedford and Alan Rickman have passed away in like a week.

Looks like Joe Frank may be on the ropes, too. I've loved his radio work for years. It'll be another great loss if he signs off for good.

So, so sad.
I just turned on my computer and went to type in a word that starts with "A" and instantly noticed that Alan Rickman's name came up first! I paused and then thought omg no, don't tell me he has died too!

It really brings home how quickly our own family members could leave this earth. It makes me want to spend more time with one family member who I sometimes take for granted.

Forbes Welcome

^When I first started to read through this list tears just started running down my face.
I could not stop the tears.

After a while of reading this extensive list I started to feel like I was going to vomit.
It just goes on and on and on and on........

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_World's_Billionaires_2015

"............a record 1,826 billionaires were named with an aggregated net worth of $7.05 trillion, up from $6.4 trillion in 2014."

There should not be innocent children dying of malnutrition and starvation on this planet in the year 2016. None. At all.

The human's that run this world are not as far removed from the wild animals as they like to believe.

This is interesting...iv always had an affinity for anything about mysterious/weird old books.

Very interesting. I've enjoyed some of Borges's short stories in the past, though I haven't come across this one before.

If you like books about books that aren't quite what they seem (or books that aren't what they seem in themselves), may I suggest If on a Winter's Night a Traveller by Italo Calvino? A truly uncommon approach to storytelling, and a favorite of mine for years. :perfect:

i'll definitely check that one out. I heard about The Book of Sand through a band a was recently listening to. its a title of one of their songs so i checked it out.

I also got into H.P. Lovecraft from music that I listen to as well.

I want to start a rare/antique book collection some day.

Firefox keeps removing all my add-ons and insists reactivate them one by one. Doing so almost daily with more than twenty add-ons is infuriating.

Now I'm sweating my *** off after taking out all the trash, vacuuming, and changing the cat box.

The worse part is I still have a long way to go before this apartment is clean.

What's the point of paying tuition fees when the teachers don't give a crap about teaching properly? I'd rather study on my own for free. In fact, I learned much more on my own for free last year than my classmates learned this semester on the same subject. I doubt my classmates learned much in that subject, it was very poorly taught and then the practical works and exams were way beyond their capabilities.

For the second part of that same subject, I was the one who had no background on it so I was majorly screwed for the exam since the teacher only taught that part for like 1 hour and gave us no exercises to practice, and then made it really complicated in the exam (even according to my classmates who work with that programming language every day).

If I had known this at the beginning of the semester I would've skipped all the classes of two subjects because they were a complete waste of time.
