been hearing rumours about how the arrested paralymician oscar pistorius (blade runner) is actually a bit of a horrible person. about how he smashed some girls face into a wall in a club and she didn't press charges as she was paid off. just rumours although I knew there was something about him I didn't like.

Can't stop kicking myself for quitting my other job. They gave me any hours I wanted, often more because they were short people (which I complained about at the time but now I could really use as many hours as possible), they liked me there. I just hated going through security every day. I wish I could work there again, though.

I've made so many bad choices past few years, I really ****ed everything up. Good opportunities given up and relationships ruined due to depression and anxiety.

Probably the last negative post I'll be making for a while, don't worry. That was just really bothering me. The other job interview was a temporary position so I turned it down, and this job isn't enough hours (and I'm the only white person there, which is uncomfortable to be honest). I'm really struggling right now, I don't know when things are going to be going well for me. Trying to hang in there but I'm a wreck. Thanks to everyone here who've offered me advice and PMs and stuff.

Hang in there. It's never too late to start over afresh.

^ This is precisely why I want to wear the sign. To stop people assuming I am unemployed because I am "lazy, too picky, drain on society etc".....

I think I would rather deal with the stigma attached to mental illness then the negative and totally wrong assumptions that I am lazy, too picky, just don't want to work etc.

I am being a little picky about what jobs I apply for due to social anxiety. I don't want to work in sales or customer service (despite the customer service experience I have working in retail). I know I would be a poor fit for a job that requires a friendly, outgoing sort of person. I do not want a job that will require me to be on the phone all day long. Excuse me for being "picky," but there's no point in applying for jobs I know I'd fail at. Either I won't get hired anyway, or if I do, I'll be miserable, in which case I'd likely be too afraid to keep looking for a better job. Definitely don't want to risk getting fired.

Spent 5 hours talking to my sister and parents about my parents' relationship. Let's just say there was a lot of misunderstandings and lack of communication.

Finally years of introspection and research on social anxiety, avoidance, personality types, self-improvement, dating tips, perfectionism, etc are showing some results, even if I'm not applying them directly to my own life.

Had a nice time out with my friend. He didn't make anything uncomfortable - it felt nice and casual and we had some interesting discussions. I needed to do something like that and it feels nice that I did. Now to make more friends to have more nights out just like that - no partying required :)

Hee. Sorry, I just love that one.

Oh, if you had any idea how many epic mistakes I've made in my life. Learning is painful, but you will learn. :)

Hah. I hadn't even realized I phrased it that way :eek:h:

Been out with the anxiety group. 14 people came to this one. We headed out to the beach and made a bonfire. I never realized that so many social phobics could be so social.

Or drunk.

Did you have a good time?
I just made a phone call to a potential friend and we chatted for half an hour. I was so hesitent over making it but I'm glad I didn't listen to my anxiety. He seemed very happy and also said that he'd never guessed I'd call him myself. Maybe its because I was in a good mood though and I know its no big of a deal but nevertheless I feel accomplished. :)

Yeah - it was good.
Camped out during the day off the beaten track.

Good for you over coming your anxiety and making a phone call. Small things like that is empowering - and encouraging.
