I dont get much sun to help colour me as iam not out in it much as usualy when the sun is out in Scotland everywhere is busy.I was just wondering if anyone else has this problem or any suggestions that could be made to help put a bit of colour to my self,i have actualy been called "that pale guy" and stuff like that when people dont know me by name.

I know this is away off topic but any replies would be appriciated :)

There are some lotions that will tan your skin more easily, while others will give it more color.

I like a lot tanning saloons because I like being tanned and because the ultraviolet rays make you feel good (they change your mood positively).

Scottish player, it take it that isn't your real photo then, stupid question. I am very pale also, and have considered sun beds, but got put of as they are dangerous, you could have one of those spray tans, or if you don't want to go have one done in public, just by a home self-tanning lotion. Don't really know what else there is. Although I think its quite difficult to get even coverage if you do it yourself.

What i was thinking is,iam not sure if many people have heard of this but i know there is some kind of tablet that can be taken to turn people from dark skin to light skin, thats all i know about it,take michael jackson for instance and a few other people i have seen also on the telly.I was wondering if there was something like this that could make the skin darker?

Ha ha, sorry I feel really silly now thinking that was really you

I have heard that there is a tablet you can take that when you are in the sun helps you tan better, have you heard of Immedene, there are two different kinds one just for mature skin to help you look younger but another one that I noticed came out on the shelves in summer last year called Immedene Tan or something like that, quite expensive though, bout £30 for a month supply.

I'm very pale. I tan easily because I have an olive complexion, but I spend so much time indoors that I never see the sun. I like it, though. I have a thing for pale skin, particularly on girls; I think dark hair and pale skin is just sooo sexy. mmmm... I love the contrast.

Add a tattoo or two (tasteful, not overbearing) and a couple piercings and there you have it. My dream girl. ;-)

Im tan but I prefer pale skin

pale skin makes every flaw jump out! plus doesn't it get to a point where it's near impossible to see a blush if you're reeeeally tan or black? maybe i've just never noticed but if even if it was true, i'm missing out on a real advantage 8O :(

I'm very pale too, but I prefer pale to tan. The only annoying part is when you go to buy a shade of foundation that matches your skin, and they don't have any that light.
I don't burn or tan no matter how long I'm outside, but my brother can go out for like five minutes and get a tan.

tan

I use a sunbed at the gym for ten minutes twice a week and it makes me quite dark ,but not over the top. It makes me feel really happy and I recommend it to anyone. Taning in moderation increases seritonin production as well as vitamin D. Both of which are important for your well being. I also suppliment with L-Tyrosine, which is a simple and cheap amino acid which makes you happy by affecting seritonin production. It also increases melanin production making you darker when you get a tan as well as helping your skin keep it's tan for longer, therefore you don't need as much UV exposure and that keeps the risks down.

There are other tanning pills on the market which also work but they are simply a hyped up combination of basic L-Tyrosine and a few vitamins for show. None of these will make you tan without exposure to the sun or sunbeds. Then there are the pills that dye your skin a bronish orange, but they are supposed to be unsure about the safety of the chemical in them so I would avoid them.

In Australia they have made a major breakthrough inna drug that stimulates natural melanin production without the need for any UV exposure. It's under trials now but should be available in 2007. It makes your skin darken as if you were out in the sun, but without the need for UV. and therefore you don't get any skin damage or cancer risks.

I am a very strong believer in moderate UV exposure for a positive mood and ever since I started going over a year ago I've been the happiest I've ever been in my life. It also clears up spots and skin blemishes.

The L-Tyrosine is fantastic too! And it's just an amino acid so it has zero side effects and cause no harm whatsoever to your health.

Get some UV and you'll be happier!! :D 8)

im annoyingly pale and i never tan at all. If i stay out in the cold my hds do go blue though
actually i like looking pale. i could always wear foundation to make my skin more coloured (im more translucent than anything) but i like having pale skin. I like the contrast with green eyes and dark hair, and looks amazing if you have really red ips - on women
and pale guys are hot. especially skinny ones.
i wouldnt worry about it, pale is as good, if not better than tan IMO

Pale skin is hot 8)

I'm extremely pale also. I feel like a ghost compared to everyone else in the summer time, but I don't really care. I wish I naturally had dark skin but since I don't I'm not going to bake my skin, and I've tried those self-tanners in the past and they leave streaks on my legs, so I gave up. But I actually like my paleness now; it makes me unique because I'm one of the few people who actually doesn't have a fake tan.

Hello there people!! I need some advise! I am sooooo white, born a redhead, etc. I just started dating this gorgeous dark complected guy. He has a boat and informs me that we will "live at the river" during the summer. I can barely wear shorts much less my bikini...im too embarassed. I swear you could see me in the dark...lmao!!!

In the past, I have tried tanning beds and get red, but never tan...even after months of going. I look darker but always looks like i am sunburned. In the regular sun... i burn, peel then back to white.

I also know that they have those "spray on tans" but they costs bout $25 and only last bout a week. Im broke, I cant afford that!!

Over the years, I have tried some of those self-tanner lotions...tehy all stink and make you look orange. Well, this is now 2006 and maybe you all know of something I could use.

Also, just recently, I have heard that there is a vitamin (maybe vitamin D) that will turn you tan without the sun. Any of you heard anything about that??

Im just so frustrated and I dont wanna be embarassed and I really dont want to embarass my man...PLEASE HELP!!

PS...We have a Mardi Gras boat parade this weekend, so I need answers fast...LOLL
