Overdoing Ionto?

I rate my palmar HH 10/10 but had a great uninterrupted dry run of 5 months with the Idromed 4 PS. Recently, I could not perform my weekly maintenance due to a foreign trip. The sweating returned & alternate day treatments have not helped.

However, I noticed that the HH is worse now combined with a slight burning sensation of the hands. I have heard that this can happen if Ionto is over done. Does anyone have experience with this?

When you first started the treatments didnt the sweating worsen before it subsided? It did for me. How many alternate day treatments have you done?

Hi, wethandsandfeet, I followed your treatment method recently, I did a one-hour treatment everyday for 13 days, the mA setting is 15. But I havn't seen any results yet.
But my hands always have a burning sensation, even before I did iontophoresis, especially when I wake up in the morning. Do your hands feel hot or burning when they sweat? I wonder that those people who have failure of iontophoresis also have the same sensation.

I tried alternate day treatments for approximately 3 weeks - about 10 treatments. I am wondering if it is better to completely stop treatments, allow the HH to return to normal levels and then begin again.

And yes, the HH does seem to get worse before it gets better. I get the slight feeling of my hands burning when the HH gets worse.

Ultrafrost: Under normal conditions, I do NOT feel that my hands are burning.

hydroman123: Can you post your Ionto schedule? Initial treatment & Maintenance?

The last schedule which worked for me was the following: Daily for 5-7 days @ 13-15mA for 1 hour everyday. Alternate days after that for 1-2 weeks. Maintenance was once or twice a week depending on how it felt. It worked for about 5 months.

I have NEVER reached 100% dryness but rather about 90% which is very acceptable.

Hey. I experimented alot and didnt really find a schedule that gave me total dryness. So I did twice daily treatments for three days followed by daily treatments. That was around forty days ago and Ive been absolutely dry for that period. I know doing iontophoresis daily sounds extreme but as long as the results last I have no complaints whatsoever. Heck, the last month has been the happiest Ive been for a very long time.
Anyway, my daily treatment is 13.6-16mA on each polarity for 10-12 minutes.
