Take a look at smartphone/tablet apps if you happen to have such a thing. I've seen a lot of tuner, metronome, and chord apps, many of them free. I can't say how well they work from experience, but it could be worth a try and might save you having to shell out for another expensive piece of kit.

Got both a smartphone and tablet, though ah don't get much use oot o' them But ah'll certainly look intae the free metronome apps. Though, it'd probably be better if ah got a battery-powered portable yin with a belt clip, y'know? Just tae save the amount of tech ah'd huv connect via ma laptop. Since ah recently shelled oot over £300 n' got some studio monitors (speakers) and a USB sound-card, for ma new guitar setup. So, to be fair, the money isnae the issue.

But cheers for the recommendation, Graybeard.

So, it wus the annual Lockerbie Gala this past Saturday. Ah didnae go masel', huv'nae went to watch the parade in years. Sadly, it's just become an excuse for lowland and Border Scots to get drunk during the day.

But, it looks like it's been great this year. Judging by the photo on Facebook and write-up in the local newspaper.

Could hear them from ma bedroom window, despite no living far from the town centre. Really should try and find out who teaches bagpipe lessons in ma area, it'd be ashame for that practise chanter just to sit there unplayed.

^ Anyway, that wus the reason for ma relatives visiting the other day, they always come down to see the Gala every year. Ah still don't know why ma 7 year old cousin, Summer, likes me so much? :idontknow: She always want ma attention and yapping to me, when ah cannae be arsed with social interaction.

And ma other cousin finds everything ah say hilarious for some reason, she in her late teens. She constantly giving me pointless movie recommendations for films ah know ah'll not enjoy or find funny in the least. :eek:mg:

Just realised ah've got like diaries worth o' stories with regards to whit's happened tae me these past few months.

I'd like to read about it.

^ This wus a reply in relation tae ma briefly hospital stay, d'ye still want tae hear aboot it? Since it's long passed now. And ah didnae get the chance to tell it while ah wus still in hospital. Though, it is now oddly linked, indirectly, with a similar story that a comedian, ah saw during this year's Glasgow International Comedy Festival, told. In that, it vividly reminded me of my time in hospital.

Don't really know where tae start with it, since, technically speaking, ma surgery was given the go ahead in the latter half o' 2015. And it's been absolutely mental roller coast of emotions and experiences for me from January through til April.

Well, the Edinburgh Fringe Society showed their dead seriouslyaboot credit card fraud today, by cancelling my transaction for 2 tickets just 24 hours after I booked 2 tickets for another show. F**kin' common sense in action, there, eh?

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Summit's no right here. How come this fella's bookin' two mair tickets fur another show, so soon efter bookin' tickets for a show that's jist across the road, there? Must be fraud! Ticket trout, the fly b@$%@rd!

Shows how much the Edinburgh Fringe festival values it's customers, huvin the balls tae accuse it's customers bookin' online of blatant fraud! F**kin' dumb c*nts, get a clue, like.

It's no like I'm gonnae be staunin' ootside the f**kin' Pleasance Courtyard, the 2nd weekend intae the Edinburgh Festival going:
"Two front row tickets for tonight's show - £70 quid! C'mon folks!"

Sorry, just ragin' cause me and ma oldest sister managed to get 3 Edinburgh Fringe shows booked nae problem, yesterday. Which I'm really happy aboot, since I was startin' tae doubt if we'd be going this year. 8 shows booked so far, with some free shows to fit in. Fair excited aboot it this years, this it'll be the most shows ah've been to in the 4 years I've been going to the Fringe.

Ah know, technically, that I should be fair happy with the leaps n' bounds progress I've made since February, but for some reason I'm no. Or at least, not overly happy.

Probably 'cause I'm no used tae be praised as much as ah huv been, lately. Or maybe ah just feel uncomfy takin' compliments, for fear they'll go tae ma heid. Or maybe that's just ma anxiety? :idontknow:

But ma physiotherapists are surprised and pleased with how well ah've been doing since starting physio. Though, ah think that slowly going to be phased oot, since there's only so much they can do during ma sessions. They did say about the gym and dieting, which isn't summit ah'd be opposed to. In fact, ah'd welcome it. Since ah need to get intae shape.

Don't know whit huvin them there (in the gym) would do. Ah mean, they dd offer to help oot which is nice o' them. But ah just feel incredibly awkward, as the only guy in a room with wimmin. Plus, it's no easy feelin' under pressure aw the time.

My mum's not as keen on the whole diet idea, but when it comes tae me she'd rather things didnae change. She always gotta be pessimistic aboot everythin' when it relates to me. :kickingmyself: But, of course, she'll spin that as me always being negative, when ah've always hud to just accept things as they are, never hud much say over anythin' in ma life, really.

Always felt ma disability, and my mum's lack of parental support held me back from living ma life how ah want.

That's probably why our relationship has been far from great.

Ma sister seems a bit mair positive, thinks ah picked the right time to get this orthodepic surgery, and said ah've been surprisingly positive and determined. Since she's known folk she supports in her job as a care worker, who huv just crumbled under the strain mentally of getting a huge operation done. Ah think everybuddy thought ah would dae the same.

Whether this going to gym more often will pan oot, ah don't know. Since ma family huv a history, with me, of rarely keepin' their promises.

Ah take this part of ma last post back, I'm actually overwhelmed with happiness and positivity about how things went yesterday with ma physiotherapy session.

Though, ah don't know if, whether or not, I've kinda rushed ma recovery a wee bit, no? :idontknow: 'Cause it definitely feels like things huv came along quickier than ah thought they would, 6 months intae ma year-long rehab. Anyway, ah think it's aboot time, that ah telt yous the story o' how ma life's been these last few months. Because I've no really got anythin' else worth divulgin' to yous. :giggle:

That said, ah don't what'll be happenin' in terms of ma physiotherapy sessions from this point forward. Since, the way Lorraine and Fiona were talkin' yesterday, made it seem like after ma next session in 2 weeks time, then it'll be in ma hands. As it has been since late February, lookin' back in retrospect. Just huv tae wait and see, but it'd be nice to ease a wee bit o' pressure off me.

Oh, and speaking of yesterday's physio session, sorry if I'm just bletherin' here amn't ah? Ah don't know if ah should stop bein' such a provocateur with ma sense o' humour. Because ah wandered intae ma session wearing this humourously shirt.

Needless to say, both Lorraine and Fiona reacted as I'd hoped and laughed-out-loud. Lorraine calling it a "classic". Fiona, who I'd only met 2 weeks ago, only just maintain her composure as I laid down for my wee warm-up before walking about for a wee while. Much like myself, because ah didnae want to laugh mysel' and kinda ruin the moment.

Fiona is standing in for my original physiotherapist, Erin, who's off on maternity leave for a year. She (Fiona) is bit stearn, kinda got that matron/school teacher vibe aboot her. Though, as ah said previously, she's pleased with how I'm walking thus far. Don't know whether to wear ma other funny t-shirt in 2 weeks time, since ma sister made reference to it, during yesterday's physio clinic?
Im_Only_In_It_For_The_Parking_T_Shirt-600x600.jpg

^ I did wear this shirt as a dare 2 weeks when ah went to ma most recent hospital appointment.

Well, today wus good. Ma consultant surgeon, Amanda, is happy that ma scars huv fully held, and happy that I'm glad to huv got the surgery done.

Though, she wus very surprised when ah said it wus 2 months afore ah got up and mobile, y'know? Considering it's just been 5 months since the operation. But then ah wus determined to get back on ma feet as soon as... Ah just hope I'm doing better in 6 months when ah see her again. No that ah doubt that.

The only downside would be feelin' really sweaty 'n' knackered fae walkin' the long trek tae ma hospital's x-ray department for x-rays.

Forgot to mention the t-shirt I was wearing that day when I posted this. Needless to say, everybuddy in the outpatient waitin' room either avoided eye contact or just stared at me, narrow-eyed and tutting. Awkward! Though, ah did get a compliement of "Nice shirt" from this group of young female nurses. :shyness:

Thanks for genuinely make me laugh-out-loud, darlin'. Much appreciated, and well needed. Since I've been feelin' a bit down until yesterday.

That be an old post - over 6 month ago did i post that!
Still got it by my bedside. Still need to read the whole thing. But i have read parts, and marked good passages. It is a well-known & good book that it is. Lot of good stuff in it.
If ye do buy it, plan to incorporate it into yer life, & keep re-reading .. so as ta have it effect ye in the practical sense.

Aye, ye did indeed. And ah dinnae mind re-reading stuff, given how awful ma concentration, memory and recollection can be at times. Particularly stuff that's be helpful to me. It's better than listening to ma family, who huv'nae got a clue what ah go through, nor the empathy to understand

Finally going to get ma right eyebrow re-pierced in 2 weeks time. The holes have closed up, but ye cun still see where ma piercing wus. Well, only just under ma incredibly thick hairy eyebrows. :giggle:

By the way, would it be wise to get a slightly raised mole from ma left forearm? No because ah think there's anythin' wrong. But if I'm getting a tattoo to cover up some light scars, ah'd rather get the mole removed rather than covered over. Since the tattoo will be quite special design, don't want owt to spoil the look o' it.

And, according to ma sister, gettin' a tattoo isn't aw that painful. Nae worse than the pain o' my recent surgery, to quote her words verbatim. And with me overcoming my fear of needles thanks to havin' blood taken before my surgery, might as well get a tattoo.

Graeme1988

Hie yer hence from me heath!
Or culd ye get the mole pierced to make it a "feature"?? Do modern young people do that, i dunno :idontknow:

Not that I'm aware of. :idontknow: But the young people do stupid shit, therefore some might do that. :giggle:

Besides, the mole is on my inner forearm, there's nae real point doing anythin' to it than get it removed. Plus the tattoo I wantin' to get will be a 3D design, gettin' the mole tatttooed over wouldnae make it (the mole) any less noticable. And ruin the look of the tattoo for me, if ah were to get it done at the moment.

Ah wish ah wus'nae as highly sensitive, sometimes. It's annoyin' feelin' as though ye dinnae belong or fit in with the rest o' society.
