this may sound a bit wacky (like I care)
but a technique I was shown was to pat your shoulder and slowly work your way down your arm , your brain cannot do anything other than switch its attention if you like to what your doing , the ocd thought then trails off , at first you may do this for a while because of course you will be hanging onto that thought , but keep at it and eventually it works.
also in cognitive therapy you would be tought how to do the opposite of distraction and actually say the thought out loud , even if it scares the crap out of you ( I was unable to say things out loud for fear that would make it come true) but you have to say it out loud , repeatedly , and eventually it loses its power , again you have to stick with this.
someone wrote a thread the other day on here , he called you all homo's , so although he didn't tie pretty flowers around his message , he had a point ..less talking and more action is the only cure for all of this crap that some of us have on a daily basis, avoiding it , medding your self to the eyeballs etc ect will never chase away ocd , but desensitization will.
