OCD or superstitions?

Hey there. How would you all define the differences between someone who has OCD or just has superstitions? Baseball players, and sports players in general, are notorious for having elaborate superstitions, but would you say they have OCD? I have my own opinion, but I want to know what you all think.

That's a good question, but I don't really know that much. I think a superstition is more like a belief that is kind of irrational and not really related to whatever you think it does. It's just something that you believe for some reason will have an outcome. I just think it has less with you making your own reasons for why it makes sense. Either though most of the time, neither of them make any sense. I also think that a person with superstitions doesn't know or care if it's wrong or not? if that makes any sense.

With OCD I think it's more like the person feels like what they are doing needs to be done, and if they don't do whatever they do. Like if they don't eat with a plastic spoon, they can't eat at all because it just doesn't feel right. And it feels like you have to do it, and they make their own reasons for it. OCD is a belief too, but it's also usually an action too. Which I think makes it different, because you are more obsessively doing stuff over and over again, and you are more aware of it. It's kind of an addiction to it, and like you know it's wrong, but that doesn't mean you can stop. I'm so confused. I don't think this makes any sense.
