Nightmare driving instructors?

I've put off driving lessons for years, but I finally thought, **** it let's give it a go.

But every instructor I never seem to get on with. I find it hard to process information quickly, particular verbal. They talk and explain far too much., even when i say that I'm a slow learner.
With the rapid instructions of mirrors, biting point, indicator, brake, clutch, curbs, watch out for people, gears...it's too much for me to comprehend. They tend to waffle on, and on, and on until I can longer process it at all.

I don't crash the car, but the whole experience is uncomfortable and confusing! He told me how to steer, as he didn't want me to cross over my hands when turning corners. He said to push up with one hand, and pull the other, but I just couldn't get it.. he explained with diagrams at one point, but I just couldnt make sense as my head was all fuzzy.

By the end of the lesson i have an immense headache, and want to leave the car. Their voice becomes the root of evil, I've completely switched off and I always say 'I'll be in touch when I have money for the next lesson.' I'm such a liar :p

Annoying, I have found one nice instructor so far, but he's not as professional, so we shall see! Anyone else have problems with driving instructors?

My driving instructor was a nightmare, but I liked him anyway, honestly I felt bad for the other kids I saw driving with him, he was almost yelling hahaha.
Just tell yourself it will all be over soon and you'll get through it, I would try refreshing yourself on the last lesson you had before you go to the next one. Also you can go to youtube and look up "hand over hand steering", there might be some helpful videos for you.
Driving is serious but try not to take it so seriously... if that makes sense.. it probably doesn't but that's what helped me haha. good luck !!

I had a very nice driving instructor. I was scared of him first, since he looked like this big angry man, however he turned out to be supernice. He always told me it was human to do wrong. But then he was on leave for a while, and I got this other instructor. He looked very nice, but when I got in the car with him the problems started. He yelled at me for everything. At one point he told me to stop the car, and he was so angry and yelled at me like crazy. He really hurted my feelings. We where suppose to have another leason, but the day before he "rang declination" ( I hope that makes sense I wasnt sure how to say it so I used google translate).
However I didnt drive more with him and had to wait til my first instructor got back before I got a new leason.

My instructor was okay for the first lesson. Then after that he was kind of a j*rk. Never really yelled, but would say insulting things. And he told me to back up every time before pulling out from a parallel park, which cost me points on the test. But luckily I still passed.

Just an idea but have you ever tried a female instructor? They explain things differently. Maybe it would work better for you. I had a male instructor once and he was a nightmare so I switched to a female one and everything got a lot easier for me.

I had an awesome driving instructor. She was patient, easy to talk to, and was very funny.
She gave me excellent tips to pass my driving test. My last lesson she bought me a drink.
