  • Haha yeah, I agree with you. The thing is I logically know that its the right thing to take advantage of chances for socialising but I'm just too lazy to follow it :p How's uni going btw?
Ohh my Halloween was very exciting actually!! Some of my friends invited me to a party but I was too afraid to go so they called me hopeless and I spent the entire night lying in my bed and thinking about what a big loser I am :p Yay me lol.
Haha this time I'm sorry. I've couple of tests coming up as well. Oh I no way have an easier time talking to people, I agree with you, shyness does come from anxiety but as I've read here and few other places that the biggest difference between shyness and SP is, shyness is merely a personality trait while SP's a disorder. People who have SP are much more than shy, like when you're shy you're very anxious but not so anxious that you start having panic attacks. I've also read that some people who suffer from SP aren't shy at all. Although it depends on the degree of your anxiety. Yeah, I understand. Well, there're conservative and ignorant people all over Indian subcontinent (probably all over the world lol) I don't have much personal experience about it though. Plus I don't think just being westernised makes anyone open minded, there are conservative and close minded people in the west too. It depends upon the person mostly. Ah I'm starting to ramble again, I should stop now lol.
Oh no, my anxiety is more in a mild to moderate level. Actually its more like extreame shyness. I've never had panic attack and stuff though. Btw I don't like to make stupid stereotypes but I've heard that families of Pakistan tend to be more conservative towards girls...is this somewhat true?
Haha yeah I can relate to that. While my parents do somewhat believe in that 'grow out of' phrase, they've also been supportive. They never pushed me to do anything I was uncomfortable with, actually you can say they're a bit overprotective as well. My extended family does think of it like a weakness or something but they know that I can be a real bitch about these stuff so they tend to keep quiet lol. How severe is your SA atm?
oh so sorry for the late reply, i'm studying mech. engineering (go figure) lol good to see you've got supportive parents, are they supportive just for academics or they actually acknowledge your SA too? cuz in my family it's seen as a "phase" that we grow out of, i hope to get over this phase quick if that's the case lol
Haha yeah a lot of parents do push their kids, but no, my parents are incredibly supportive. They said I could study whatever I want to. What about yours? Also what are you majoring in?
Its good to know that the party went well. I'm a student as well, currently studying psychology as I want to be a counsellor.
Yeah, its better giving it a try than to keep wondering. Best of luck for the party. So what do you do?
