What medication for SA do you take/have you taken in the past?

I began taking Prozac a few days ago. I didn't go to a shrink to give me a prescription for it, but apparently it's sold over the counter where I live and it's dirt-cheap.

So far it hasn't had any effect but I know it's only supposed to start working in 2 weeks so I'm hoping my life will magically change around New Year's.

Well, citalopram SORT of worked, but it gave me more side effects than it did results.

Wellbutrin is working much better. I still feel the anxiety, but not so bad. Sometimes i still run into a situation where i have a bad reaction, but its more manageable. If i retreat somewhere where i can compose myself for 5 minutes im usually alright.

I become a whole different person under the influence of vodka. When I'm drunk I can sociable, funny, and not the least bit self-conscious. Man, I wish there was a drug that makes you feel like you're drunk all the time but without the side effects like lack of coordination.

Perhaps you should re-read the name of this forum. I'm terrified of seeing a doctor. I'd have to tell them more than I'm comfortable with.

Plus I think most of psychologists/psychiatrists are worthless charlatans.

I have taken Prozac for a few months before, unfortunately it had no effect but this can be different for everybody of course :) I wish you the best of luck and hope it works for you.

Thanks :)

It did have an effect on me after I took my first pill - it got me high for a couple hours. But in the consequent days of taking it I felt just like usual.
