that's not severe. Severe is when you have it all over your body and it DRIPS. I have it on my hands, feet, armpits, face, chest, back, groin, and it DRIPS. That's severe ;) Anyway, you can try avert capsules that decrease sweating or try glycopyrrolate solution known as Secure Wipes that you use on your sweat areas and they make you not sweat for the day. I'd go with the Secure Wipes since you mostly have it on the face. Using avert/anticholinergic for long term will wear down your body (it blocks acetylcholine). Both are available at pharmacy.ca - Canada's internet pharmacy under excessive sweating section

I've learnt to try and hide sweating on my back due to anxiety, but my face is really bothering me. I don't suffer with HH on my face, although I do on my palms, mildly (it isn't dripping, but always wet). What bothers me is on my face, since you cannot hide it, people notice, it becomes worse, etc. Mine is due to anxiety.

Rexus - have you had any experience with those medications/wipes that you recommended? Is your HH made a little worse by anxiety? Input is greatly appreciated, so thanks.

Bad cranio-facial HH IS severe--can't be hidden, makes you look like a dork. If you're female, it creates a big problem with makeup, too. So, severe enough.

The wipes are fine, but can't really help with head/hair. Avert (Robinul in U.S, or maybe there's a generic version=glycopyrrolate) made a huge difference for me. Also, I've been on the med for several years with no severe side effects--though everyone's different.

What is your age? At what age did you start to notice the sweating? I recommend you go to a dermatologist and get an official diagnosis. Have your blood and thyroid checked. If you are over 25 and you have never experienced this excessive sweating before this point it is likely you might not be suffering from HH but another underlying factor....

Hello Sir,

I would certainly not go with an oral medication at first, there are a plethora of other topical products out there to try. First, as mentioned, I would try the Secure Wipes to start. They have proven to be very successful for containing cranio-facial hyperhidrosis. Here are a handful of success stories from multiple users: ESFB Channel :: View topic - Secure Wipes = I AM A HAPPY MAN

As you read, notice that they are using at least a 2% concentration, this is what you would at least need. You can order the pads at pharmacy.ca under the "excessive sweating" tab (this is a known website around here, no scam), no prescription required.

Avert can be ordered from pharmacy.ca and defintely works. The only problem is you need to drink constantly as your throat and mouth will be dry as a side effect.

Good for you. The one thing to remember about Avert is to take it in the morning on an empty stomach. I take 3 mg in the morning and it seems to work all day. Good luck.
