I'm really sorry to hear that your friends are acting like this. If anything, they should be there to offer their support. Maybe they weren't true friends to begin with.
I recommend that you check out meetup.com since they have groups where people with SA can get together and do fun things on the weekend. I know there is a group in manhattan, but there may also be some in NJ as well. My recommendation is to find a group that is free, because some organizers charge their members a fee to come to the meetings.
