had an appointment with a mr owudike at bolton royal hospital today. my problem is under arm sweat. i dont get big sweat patches just a more sticky thicker sweat that smells only treatment he thinks would help is lsa as i already have bad scarring from an op i had years ago the excision of under arm skin. lsa isnt available on the nhs but he does the op privatly at a cost of 2000 pounds im willing to save n have this done but he cant b sure if it will cure the problem n its alot ov money to waste if it doesnt work. just wondering if anybody else has had this procedure n has similar symtoms to me and if its cured there problem.

Look into miraDry. It's for the armpits (I wish it worked elsewhere). It's supposed to be the best technology in regard to lasers.

Well if it stops the sweating it should take care of the bromhidrosis. You apocrine sweat glands are responsible for that, and if it successfully destroys those glands, it should help quite a bit.

im just sceptical of anything workin tbh. spent a small fortune over the years on diffrent kinds ov deodrants, body mint tablets, botox had the retrodermal cutterage the only thing that worked for 2 n half years was the xcision but the glands grew back. frustrates me so much this condition as im sure it does everyone who suffers with it thank u for ur replies :)

As the inventor of Laser Sweat Ablation, I can assure you that the doctor that you quote has neither trained in Laser Sweat Ablation nor uses the patented Whiteley Laser Sweat Abaltion cannula - Therefore whatever you were offered, it was not real Laser Sweat Ablation.

You should invent something like that for the hands and feet...

I recently had something similar done.

Mine was Sidelaze and in total it cost me just about what you were quoted for (If Google exchanged it correctly)

I can't say for you because I don't know what tools are being used for yours, but I had amazing results. I only needed one treatment for my left armpit, but I needed a second one for my right. (Which is normal)

Right now I'm still waiting for everything to heal up, and I'm still sweating just slightly, but not enough to leak through my clothes (minus hot days/exercise which then I get maybe 1/4" by 1/2" mark if I didn't use an antiperspirant) As time goes on (as I learned from my first one) the sweating will stop all together. My left armpit doesn't need any sort of antiperspirant.

But overall if I use an over the counter antiperspirant I'm not bothered at all by heat or overall living.

I will say, if you have the option of Miradry, I would go for that. While the Sidelaze DID work for me and I'm BEYOND happy, it was very stressful wondering if it would work because it's so new. But if it's your only option, I've experienced great results.

Good luck Brunette, maybe you should enquire and ask them if they offer any form of refund if it doesn't work... I know I'd be asking. £2000 is a lot of money for something with no garuntees, let is know how you come along!

and thank u englishman it is alot of money to pay out if its not going to work or return after a few months or years. And as far as iam aware theres no risk of compensary sweating i had the excision done years ago which is kinda similar not removing the actual skin just destroying the sweat glands which is the same and i got no compensary sweating from that.

I'm not sure if the exact treatment is in the UK. It's very similar to the LSA Mark Whiteley invented though. I would be careful though and be sure the doctor you're going to has had success because I have read some doctors out there try to mimic Mark Whiteley's technique and it failed. It seems the one you're talking to has had success. My doctor said he had to go through some sort of training to even get the machine, so I was glad to hear that.

I can't say for sure if it WILL work the same for you. All I know is that the laser destroys the sweat glands, and it also increases the skin thickness of your underarm (At least, the Sidelaze does). My sweat left patches, but it was thick and sticky. I can't say if we have a similar problem though. But if I just take in account that the laser kills the glands (which there is no increased sweating elsewhere. I've not had that problem in the slightest.) I would assume it would destroy it no matter what kind of sweating you have.

I only have what I call 'ghost sweat'. You would bet your life your armpit is full of sweat, but when you touch it there's nothing. I think that's more psychological though. Haha

Good luck with it all though. Again, I'm very happy with my results. I'm so grateful to all those who got this procedure going.

ghost sweating seams the same as phantom sweating after one first starts ionto treatment on the the hands. You feel like you are sweating, but your not. Eventually the sensation goes away.

i dont think the sidelaze is available over here ive researched it and seems to be america is the place its most practised. Mr Odwudike has had success hes just unsure with me because of my scarring and previous ops but nothing's for sure or guranteed anyway where operations are concerned he will re do the op for free if the sweating returns after 2 years which is gud. Thank you for your reply missing its helped me and ive decided to go ahead i can only try and when i had the excision i got phantom sweating to but does get better after awhile
