Interesting, eventful day of school today!

So, we had to give a 3-5 minute presentation on 3 careers we had been researching for the past week. There is a girl in that class of mine who got light-headed and nearly passed out before we started.

My teacher had to call the office and help her there so she could lay down for awhile.

I am a pretty intuative person too. I suspected she had a really bad case of SA or something to that degree. She only talks when she is called on, and when she is called on she is all flustered and gets red etc. the classic signs.

So some asshole starts making fun of her and me being a former SA victim, knew exactly what she was going through. I went over to him and was like "shut the fuck up douche bag, you have no right to make fun of her like that, you have no fuckin idea what she is going through." He gets all cocky and gets all up in my face so we start talking shit to each other etc. the teacher walks back in as I shove him back into his chair, which he falls over.

I got sent to the office at that point too. I asked to talk to the girl while I was there waiting for the principle. I got her to open up to me after i told her how I used to have SA and went into that whole story. she said I was the only one she had ever talked to about her SA. we talked for like 15 minutes before the principle called me in.

It made me feel pretty good, even if I did get sent home early for "starting a fight" even though I was standing up for her since she couldn't do it herself.

Ok I'm impressed that you had the guts to stand up against an asshole, even more impressed that you continued insulting him/her. It's exactly what I would've done, but in my case anxiety hinders me forming any kind of understandable sentance when I'm angry.

It's nice that you chatted to the nervous girl as well, as a fellow loner I would've appreciated a gesture like that to no end. :)

Are you at school / college or uni? Couldn't tell from your post...

Bravo!!! 2 thumbs up for u! I can never understand why do some people(like the guy who bullied the girl) behave like this. & for a guy to behave that way to a girl makes it all the more unacceptable :?

I'm a senior in high school. This particular class is a marketing I class that I was put into. I'm not really interesting in advertising, more of a math/science guy myself.

I found out, from a friend, the girl, her name is lauren, is only a freshmen. Poor thing

I don't have SA. I used to. At least I believe I used to. I am not too sure anymore these days. I might have just been really shy or something.

Anyway I just wanted to update you guys. I was at my friends house and I get a call from this girl. I was so suprised that she actually called me, seeing as how she has SA and all. I called a bud and told him to give her my cell and tell her to call anytime she wants to talk. I was so not expecting her to call, yet so glad she did.

I got her to go to a football game with some friends of mine =D (I let them know about her SA etc and they were really cool about all of it, I truly believe I have the best friends anybody could ask for). I Just got home like half an hour ago or so. We went to the game and then I took her out to dinner at red robin alone. She seemed to be having a good time, I hope she did anyway! we got to talking and she is so sweet. We might end up going to homecoming together or something.

It's unbelievable because I woke up today and ALMOST didn't go to school. Crazy how life works out like that. What a great day, anyway i'm gonna go crash. Hope all of you have a good day/night depending on where you live.

Hmm Empty-Words,

Don't mean to "be all in your business" or anything but it seems like something may spark between you and this girl...lol. But seriously, I think it's cool what you did. You had the guts and did what was right!!! But I'm still curious about your past social phobia or what you thought to be it. What happened that made you think you had it and how'd you go about getting over that Just curious and want some advice just like many others on this forum. Thanks!

yea, that felt good aint it? i dont mean it in a sadistic way, but it feels good to defend the innocent, and to make them realise what is right and wrong. i am sure your confidence must be soaring since.. :D
