Inferior to the popular

Well this is my first thread so here goes. I wanna know if anyone else has that feeling of "loserness" when you feel confident enough to talk to someone, and not knowing, a popular person will come up and make a joke and steal the conversation. I'm sure they dont mean it, but right after that, I go right back into my shell, and stay like that for A WHILE. Or if someone comes around and makes a joke an everybody else is laughing, I'll feel like that person ust showed me up or something. Wish I cud just take the joke and have my slef- esteem still be there...

Well, similar. I let whomever enters the conversation steal it if it seems to me that the previous talkers are paying more attention to them than to me. Then I retreat slowly from the conversation and stay into my shell for some time (usually one or two days) because I feel this inferiority you are talking about.

**** the popular. Wanna be popular? Laugh at their joke even if you don't find it funny. Then come back with one of your own. "Popular" means accepting the general idea even if you don't agree with it. In other words fake. In the real world, being yourself gains you more respect. If someone tells you a joke and you don't find it amusing, don't laugh then give them an odd look. They will feel embarrased or hesitant and slow down their chatter. Trust me, it works. And if there is a woman around, you will appear as the dominant male/ or female. Being yourself is the best thing in the real world.

Nl54 dats tru. Jus hard to do wen u're in a 'state' u kno. I do it wen i feel good an it does work, but then the same person i was talking to may catch me on a wrong day, and back to square one.

A way to get good at jokes is to watch a lot of comedy and take either ritalin or adderall to make talking easier.
