While im out, i might be STARVING but i will try to refrain from eating so idont have to go to the bathroom. And whenever i go to a place where there are no bathrooms, like on a car drive, or just in a random city, i feel like i have to go instantly! One time our car broke down, right when i found out we werent going any where, i had to go to the bathroom! Please help me with my situation so i can go out without worrying! thanks

Hi Aftershock, sorry I've no advice, just another number to make you feel less alone :) It's gotten to the point that my need to go to the loo controls my whole life, and (like you) I make my decisions based around it. I think it's definitely stress/anxiety provoked. Good for you btw, it's not always an easy topic to talk about.

It sounds like you might have a form of Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I don't know where in the world you are ... but I read in a food magazine that there's now actually a UK dating site for people who find it hard to socialise because of the condition, so you're definitely not alone! It's called www.irritatedbeingsingle.com (never visited it myself so don't take this as an endorsement but might be worth a look).
There's also www.ibsnetwork.org.uk where you might find help on the medication query.

Aftershock,

I have colitis, which is a bowel disease and know loads of people who suffer with it and IBS, Chrones etc.

Go see the doctor if you haven't already. They can give some advice and will help you to deal with identifying whats going on, it may just be the anxiety and its nasty effects in your body, could be your diet or a number of things.

As for going out, you need to train your self in holding on as long as possible if its a pee, if it's a number 2 you really need to learn not to let anxiety control your thoughts as this makes an physical condition much worse.

Either way you shouldnt be starving your self, this will only help to familiarize you with avoidance of suffering. Suffering is inevitable, you must face it head on and deal with it as effectively as possible. Your body needs to be kept healthy else it will break down, like a car without a good service.

Sounds like IBS to me.

It's common with anxiety dissorders, hence the term 'scared ****less'. Only advice I can offer is to lower your anxiety through relaxation and suchlike. I used to get this too and I know just how inconvenient it can be! But if you can lower your anxiety, then it should diminish a little.

Of course, if you start worrying about it, then you become more anxious, which is exactly what's causing it in the first place. I know it's difficult, but it helps to accept that you will feel like this from time to time, and if you're really desperate then you're just going to have to run into the bushes or something. It certainly ain't going to kill you. If you can accept that it's there with little you can do about it then you can become a little more relaxed in your thoughts towards it.

Don't know if this is much help, but it helped me.
