Hyperhidrosis - Tips For Summer

Hi,

Summer is just around the corner here in Australia, I was just wondering how you guys and girls cope and manage summer living with hyperhidrosis?

It was only 20C today but I was sitting in the hot sun and noticed my back and lower body were quite wet. Just wondering if anyone has any tips for summer?

As you can see it's not even hot yet, but I'm starting to feel the full affects of generalised hyperhidrosis which is set off by heat.

I suppose minimal clothing, staying out of the sun, drinking plenty of water are the standard tips. Lighter colours would help too but I can't see myself showing off my sweat haha.

For those who take an anticholinergic such as Robinul, Ditropan and Pro-Banthine, how does the summer affect you taking the medicaiton?

Or do you all just head to the beach and sweat it out?

Would be good to hear your thoughts. :)

Driclor will help you to get rid of the back sweating. But it doesn't have the same effect on the lower body sweating (at least not for me).

About the lower body, unfortunately, all I can do is use dark colors.

I take Avert (Cdn version of Robinul). I take it more regularly in the summer, and maybe at a higher dose. But if it's really hot, I sweat a little, and don't mind it--OK when everyone is sweating too.

In my part of Canada, we're of course moving in the other direction, weatherwise. They're predicting frost overnight--eek! However, for me it means less Avert less often.

Thanks for responding. Felipe, I will probably try Driclor or Odaban for the back sweat and lower regions. Just hoping I only have to apply it once a week. What do you mean by it doesn't have the same effect on the lower body? Which part may I ask?

Ah Robinul/Avert the miracle drug. I can manage during the cooler months (just need to get my underarm HH under-control) so I would most likely take a med during the warmer months, perhaps 3-4 months.

Just wondering, how long have you been on Avert for? What dosage, how often and when? I'm thinking perhaps if I can take say 1mg-2mg in the morning and that lasts all day, I can perhaps invest in buying Avert from pharmacy.ca just for the summer.

What do you think? Or should I test out Ditropan and Pro-Banthine as I have them atm. Just it seems they only last for 3 hours before you have to take another dose, where I've read that with Robinul/Avert you just need to take it in the morning and/or at night.

Appreciate if you can respond, or anyone else for that matter. :)

Well, FOR ME Driclor and Odaban don't work very well on butt and legs sweat.

And in my opinion, Driclor is better than Odaban.
