How to make iontophoresis more effective

After numerous tries of using my Fischer md-1a, I found something more effective.

I think the problem with iontophoresis is the way the trays are designed. So, what I did was I bought some

Aluminum pie baking pans
Alligator clips (red/black)
Table salt

Instead of using the trays that come with the Fischer, I fill the aluminum with water and add some table salt. For the connectors, I just use the alligator clips and clip the metal end of the cords to the pans. I do it 10 minutes one polarity 10 minutes the other polarity every other day for about 7 treatments. Then I do maintenance treatments every 4 days.

After the initial treatment, I find that my entire palm is dry, but my fingers still sweat in some situations. But I have found that it is much easier to control my entire hands sweating for the most part, and only in really hot conditions do my fingers sweat. But I will say it is MUCH better than if I were to not do the treatments at all.

VERY INTERESTING! a very good idea. I'll have to try that sometime. I agree that the ficsher pans are ridiculously poorly designed.

thanks

Hi I use Idrostar and are satisfayd whit the trays, they are deep enough for me. But they could not be smaller either then:)

I also have problems whit sweating on the fingertips, but I use dehydralcream, and that works for me 90-95 % of the time compared to when I not use it.

First week I took 4 to 5 times before bedtime, then it was enough whit 1-2 or 3 times a week,it all depends sometimes.

And when I only use it on my fingertips the tube last for a very long time and it is not expensive.

Only side effect is that you can get a bit yellow on your tips, but I havent noticed much to that. But have heard someother complain about it,,,but they offen use it on the whole hand/feet to,,,so..Just a tip.

Ben,
The Fischer pans are simply photographic developer pans used in a darkroom. You can make your own... the ones Fischer includes are not scientifically created by any means.

First, get two plastic containers (like you'd put DVDs in or something). Then go to Radio Shack and buy banana plug connectors (similar to the ones already on the Fischer trays). When you have these, drill a hole into the plastic containers and screw the posts onto the container. You might want to take the nuts and washers off of the posts from the Fischer trays as they'll help you conduct current into the water better.

Now you should have deeper trays. Mine are approx double the volume of the original trays. I can submerge my hands in them completely so as to get the entire hand.
