how to get help if you cant afford it?

I had a therapist before, but my insurance through work payed for most of it. I lost that job and can no longer afford it.
My issues have cost multiple jobs and it just keeps getting worse.
While in therapy it got better, I had hope of overcoming these issues..but its too expensive.

I'm not asking for a handout, but it feels like my only option is suicide, everything I'm doing now is just prolonging that.
I don't know how to fix these issues myself and need help.
..I try support groups/sites like this site, but it doesn't help the way a professional can.

Have you heard of a site called "7 cups of tea"? It's a support site full of trained listeners, therapists, and counselors and other people like yourself looking for emotional support. There's also a forum and a phone app for it as well. I've been using 7 cups' online group chat feature lately but the site also has confidential one-on-one chatting too. I hope this helps you in some way.

Where I live, there is a mental health department through the local government. While it may not be free, they base fees on your income and financial obligations. I have used these services before, and found it helpful and affordable. Sometimes, I had insurance which covered the therapy, and sometimes, I didn't, and I had to pay out of pocket.
I also have used counseling services through my university when I have been enrolled in classes, so if you are currently in school, you may be able to access some form of therapy through that as well.
I hope you find something that works for you. Good luck!
