My first and only language is English, but I do speak basic Afrikaans which I learnt in school.

Soy muy aburiba ahora - Me too.::p:

I did try to learn some Spanish, but I lost interest. I want to learn French some day though.

Ah man, I'd love to be able to pick up languages like that. I did a bit of German at school but most of it's left me.

Trying to learn Farsi at the moment but it's been a while since I really sat down with it.

Little impresses me more than when somebody that can speak fluently in more than one language. I used to have a moderate grasp of French but my memory doesn't serve me so well these days. I really want to learn Japanese.

Eres o estas aburrida? ;) That is a difference, no? Like if you said "I am boring", instead of "I am bored" :D.

Btw. Chained, do you also call children slaves in Bosnia? I know in Slovenia a child is called "otrok", which in the czech language means "slave". It's maybe because in the past the children really served as slaves :D.

I can speak English, a bit of French and German.

Coming from England too, I'm the same.
I primarily know English (obviously), with French (learnt for a few years) and German (a couple) in school. That was many, many moons ago, though, so I only have remembered bits here and there for both of the latter. ::p:

I took German for the whole five years and French for the first two. Both are quite rusty now and my French has many bits of German in it. :D

I'm fluent in Swedish and English. Studied spanish for 6 years but I've forgotten a lot of it. Currently learning Korean, but I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to reach fluency in that one...

Ok I will comment on your German :). Translation: I am hungry.. I didn't have anything for breakfast and I wanted to eat pizza but I can't, because my mother made a schnitzel.. I don't know if it's correct what I wrote, but I don't think it's bad... Anyone from Germany? I'd have to live in Germany to improve my vocabulary.. think I have talent for languages.

I think it's incredible you speak so many languages with just 17. The german is great, only little things - I think it should be "fuer das Essen", "was ich geschrieben habe", "um my vocabular"... But my german is far from perfect either, I hardly ever know if it's "der, die, or das" etc. But good as long as everyone understands what you want to say :).
