How does it feel?

Hey everyone.

I have had HH for probably 7 or so years and was wondering how the onset of a HH episode feels to you when it starts up. For me, I can sweat pretty much out of the blue, does not have to be hot for it to happen.

Basically I get tingly all over and then some waves of hot/cold come in, then sweating happens. Feels like pins and needles like if your arm fell asleep or something.

Is this something others experience as well?

Thanks :)

A slight tingling, then the flood gates open up. It's amazing how a single thought can trigger so much sweat.

Ok, I was not sure if that is how others felt, so it is comforting to see that others are the same way and that this is the typical onset of sweating.

HH does mean hyperhydrosis yes.

hi i have hh aswell. it sounds like we share the same symptoms. The condition can be really frustrating. I also get extreme facial blushing which looks terrible:mad:

I am going to go to the dermatologist on Dec 2 to talk to him about it. It is in my file that I complain about the sweating, yet both my PCP and derm seem to sort of brush it off. Not this time though. I want to see if he can prescribe me Rubinul before I try to get it from pharmacy.ca.

If you have problems with hands, feet or underarm sweating you can give ionto a try (not any side effects to speak of). Medication affect the whole body, but can be one of few solutions if you experience facial sweating for example.

If the Derm brushes you off, find another Dr. Our sweating is real.

True.

My sweating happens to be all over really. Head, arms, most upper body and butt/crotch area. Legs and feet are ok. Not sure why, but it is super annoying as you all know. Has really shaped my life in a way that I truly hate.

Hey everyone!

Went to the derm yesterday and he did actually listen to me and all, so that felt good. He was concerned that the sweating could be a part of a more serious problem, but since I have had it for around 7 or so years, we were both not so sure.

Anyways, he did prescribe me 25mg of atenolol and take one every night before bed. Today, after one pill, I did notice a slight difference, but because it is pretty cold here in MA, it will be hard to tell if this pill is really working. Best to try it in the summer, but that is a while off right now. So far so good, I will keep you posted.
