how do you answer when asked "ever thought of moving away/wanting things from life"

my manageress in the charity shop i work in keeps asking about what i want to do. Im sure she means well, but i never know how to answer her. I mean she will ask about whether i have thought about moving away to look for work and about wanting things out of life like a car etc. I was forced to work in the charity shop a condition of being out of work for so long and i have really found it enjoyable and i have said i want to stay on to help volunteer but having suffered from social anxiety for so long i dont really have a plan so to speak for the future, i just do what i have got to do to survive. I dont want a car. All i really want out of life is to not worry about what other people think so much.

WOW!! Great to hear you found it enjoyable!! I remember you hated it in the previous charity shop!!

How about you just say you'd love to continue to help out there if it's possible? (Is this a limited-time-contract position? Could your contract get prolonged?) Or maybe if she knows of a place where you could do something similar to this after this contract runs out? There are full-time jobs in non-profits too, you know... Maybe not in that one, maybe in other similar ones, or different ones.. So maybe say you'd love to work in the non-profit sector, and with people equally as lovely as she is, and as the people in this shop are? And does she know of any good positions for you? :D

Also, maybe it would be good to look at any websites of interesting non-profits or look for jobs that might be good.. Some people write many job applications and go to many interviews, and then land something great... When does your contract here run out? It would be good to start interviewing before it does, as you're relatively happy and upbeat now, it seems.. And it's always good to go to interviews when you're relatively okay with yourself and life.. :)

Or just say, 'We'll see what's out there... I've looked at some jobs..' Maybe it's her idea of helping you, trying to inspire you for action, often these type of jobs are in sorta 'making people more employable' programs, and maybe she even gets bonus points if she can write in her report that you're actively looking for a job or get a job then?
If you want to 'survive' you'd probably need some sort of income, in the future, especially after any relatives might be gone... (My parents worry a lot about that, so I can relate.. It can be very annoying, it may be good to try to think of some sort of income/career/moneymaking streams that would be adequate for your way of life even if you were completely independent and on your own... Then they all will be calm and you won't have to deal with worries and such.. If you live with worriers, it's difficult not to worry what they worry about.. And they might worry about you sleeping under the bridge after they pass on or such - yup, my parents have said similar things to me, sigh... So finding a 'next plan' can be very encouraging for them, so they see you have something to do/get money from even after this gig runs out..)

As for the car, I tell them it's not eco anyway and I don't need it, prefer to use the public system.. Too many cars polluting the air around here anyway... And if I'd really need one I'd buy/get one...
I've thought of moving away and want things from life, lol - this is always different for different people though... I often tell people (older folk) that it's different today, that younger generation doesn't have the same type of wishes and opportunities, life is different, we all need to be more humble in some things and be more eco-friendly etc. My parents' generation was building houses and polluting the environment a lot, we need to be less 'consumer-oriented'... If she's at all into eco-friendly things, she might understand that... Or have her watch Story of Stuff... :) (Watch it yourself, if you haven't yet!! It's free to watch online, awesome cartoon!!)

Other things to think about: If you want 'peace' - do you get it now, living with the folks? I was muuch more peaceful when living away, alone or with roommates, so it's a wish, lol.. So, things to consider... :) Wishing you good luck!!
