Not too good at the moment. :sad: But then things would probably be a lot better if the family support I get wasn't so superficial. Being treat like a jokes doesnae help, either. :thumbdown: Just saying that you love someone means feck all if you continuously treat them as though they don't matter to you.

You have probably already tried everything you can by now to help you get some sleep, but have you ever tried drinking some warm milk?
Milk does contain tryptophan, the raw material that your brain uses to build melatonin. I find it helps.

I truly believe history will repeat itself, and we will have another world war. The difference this time is, as technology advances so do the weapons. More efficient.

I have to wonder though, as a soldier would today's weapons and warfare be any worse than charging into the massive meat grinders that was WW1 & WW2?


Also, I think we in the western world have lost touch with how the world truly works (and ALWAYS has).
There has always been a dominant force. Years ago it was the French and Spanish. Before them the Romans. The British ruled the world for a time.
It has been America time for a while, and I for one am thankful to have them as a dominant force in the world.
The Chinese, Iranians, Indonesians, the middle eastern countries.. none of them would have allowed the personal freedoms that we as Australians have enjoyed.

No one is saying that the yanks are perfect. Far from it. And yes, they sometimes treat their allies with disdain. (Without the Allied forces America would not have won WW2, most current day Yankees seem to forget that part).

We in the western world have the most to lose if America and it's allies lose world dominance. There is a constant struggle to be at the top, which is why increases in military budgets are necessary.

Social media, and indeed the media in general know the general public is quite dumb and will swallow hook line and sinker ANY sensationalist news that is presented by them, true or not. It all comes back to who makes the most money.. and good news doesn't sell.

I say just as bad as the governments, these days the media has become it's own monster. No longer is fact reported, but innuendo and rumor is. Even outright biased BS is presented as fact.

General society is dumb. Governments and the media know it. They continue to play us for the fools we are.

Damned if I do, damned if I don't pretty much. Can't win either way. :sad: Can't pack up n' go.
Can't cut all contact with the family without me being perceived as the bad guy, or whatever expletive ya want to use alongside the word "selfish".

In many ways I'm still that same frightened, insecure kid that I was when I was little.
Though, I doubt I ever really grow outta being like that? The kid just learnt to shut tha f*ck up, and rarely speak up for himself.

Going to make an appointment with my doctor on Monday to get that lump above my collarbone seen to. I hope everything will be fine. raying:

That's what I'm kinda hoping it'll be as well. But, given how sore my throat has been these past couple days, I don't just want to assume that it's a cyst and leave it be.

Though I think the stress and fact I haven’t really been taking care of myself this past week probably contributed to the problems with my throat, and whatever that lump is? But I’ve been taking paracetamol to try and keep things from getting worse.

But, really, ah think I just need time away. Away from the house, away from my family and their petty drama. It’d be great if I had the money to afford booking myself into a hotel, or rent a wee appartment. If I did, then I’d just pack up some clothes, my shaving kit, one of my guitars and my mini 25 key electric piano. And just spend a few peaceful days by myself. After the week I’ve had, boy, do I need some time alone.

Awfully disappointed in masel’... :sad: Ah wasted all of this week, when ah could’ve done quite a bit. That’s if it wasn’t for the family arguments that I had to overheard and then deal with. As I was the yin who’d get the brunt of my mother’s anger once they were done. :kickingmyself:

How that wummin feels more intimated by her youngest daughter who still refuses to act her age despite being almost 40... As I venture further into the scientific world, I begin to doubt the energetic powers of the Universe guiding my life. However, the Universe strikes again - another question has been answered.

The Universe likes to answer me using fortune cookies - this has happened before. I was out to lunch with my mom and niece talking about my love life. There's a guy at work who I'm pretty sure likes me and I might like him too. Then, there's cute gym guy who I can't seem to get the courage to talk to. My family was trying to encourage me to make a move and talk to him/find out more about the guy I work with.

The fortune cookies came and I thought to myself "please give me an answer..."

My mom grabbed the one in front of me (which was unusual because we always just pick what's in front of us), so I grabbed the one in front of her.

It read: "Approach someone new. You may be surprised by the warm reception you receive"

I laughed after reading it because it was so applicable to the conversation I was having beforehand. I read it to my family and they saw it as a sign, too.

I'm going to the gym tomorrow. If cute gym guy is working, I'm going to try to chat him up and get a date. I wish I could get drunk first, but I'm going to try to not be a social retard - wish me luck.
