If my whole life is lived out of fear of society then that will majorly suck. I hope we can all get past this before our lives are over because a life with SA isn't much of a life at all... but, I have a feeling it's beatable so I'll hang in there and battle it out because SA is not the end of the world, quite yet...

I been like this 10 yrs. But its not fear of society or people in general, its fear of negativity. My SA is based off of this, and I avoid or want to avoid negative people and places.

Im at the point of insecurity and low self esteem as well, so thats another hurdle in itself. I dont wanna be like this forever cause that scares me, I do think it can get better though.

The point to remember is that you're not trying to get rid of anxiety. This is one of the biggest misconceptions of beating social phobia. Anxiety warns us of danger and the unknown. In fact, you couldn't get rid of it even if you wanted to.

The problem isn't our anxiety per se. The problem is that we don't confront our anxiety. We think by conceptualizing and brainstorming every situation we can magically come up with the perfect non-painful cure for social phobia. It doesn't work that way. NOTHING worth having works that way. You gotta get in the mud and wrestle with your anxiety every day. Eventually you'll pin it down, like it's your little sister/brother. So when it comes knocking on your door at another day, you can effortlessly give it a wedgie and forget about it for the rest of the day.

Anxiety will never stop visiting you. The only thing you can do is get better at confronting it.
