I've done enough research on hyperhidrosis treatment using western medicine. Correct me if i'm wrong but i feel like western medicine is only there to control the symptoms. for example, drisol is just strong antiperspirant to block the pores so sweat "supposedly" wont leak through and other medicines like advert/robinul blah bla bla, all those other alternatives, even ets just seems to be treating symptoms/ suppressing the sweat. Chinese medicine is known for treating the causes and i have watched enough documentary on how accupunture or qi gong can sometimes cure problems that western medicine cannot. I'm going to give it a try and will let you fellows know how it goes, the only downside about acupuncture is that it's not a one step instant cure, it takes time but supposedly really effective. i have heard of people with palmar hyperhidrosis using acupuncture and has been pretty much 95% cured. what do you guys think?

I consider getting acupuncture one of the bigges wastes of money in my life. I went to a acupuncture place that was well known with several studies on HH and acupuncture and the recommended places to places the ndeeles to cure HH. After several sessions though calming, were nothing more than like a cheap temporary meditation thing... In less your insurance covers it, be cautioned.........

Western medicine tend to deal directly with the symptoms whereas Chinese medicine believe people get sick because their "chi" is not balanced so they will try to restore the balance one's "chi". Theoretically, Chinese medicine will cure HH without any side effects at all. But I heard that the succes of accupuncture for HH sufferer is quite low, well below 50% I think. Besides, it is really time consuming. However, if you have the time, I think it is still worth a shot.

I have palmo-plantar HH and I have tried this method of heating various spots on the wrist and ankle. This method is supposedly to make my "chi" balanced and flow smoothly. It kind of worked but only in cool and dry weather. As I live in Vietnam, which is really hot and humid in the summer, it really didn't help that much. And it was also time consuming so I stopped.
