Hi guys,

I just want to share how homemade iontophoresis worked to my severe hyperhydrosis, this is for all HH sufferers who don't have money to buy expensive ionto machines.

Im using AC adapter for laptop with 18-24 volts with maximum of 4 amperes, i used lower volts for the first week until i used the max 24 volts. For the first month i do it everyday and it only reduced the sweating to 70% even tho i follow the instructions in the Youtube video like 15 mins per polarity, not touching the bottom of pan, and ETC. My fingers still sweating allot but the palms are 100 dry. So by that time i realized that i should stop doing it since its not really effective . but i didn't quit..

On the first month i'm resting my hands like 20-30 seconds after changing the polarity so i will not feel the current. For second month i changed how i'm doing sessions, I think this is the trick that worked for me, every time i change polarity after 15mins, I change the polarity so quickly then put my hands again in the pan, like 2-3 seconds interval. This will hurt but you will get used to it until you never feel the current.

Now my hands are 100% dry and doing it 2-3 times a week for maintenance. Just never give up in doing it i hope sharing my story help other HH sufferers.

Thanks for your success story. Treatment varies between us all. That's why it's always a good idea to experiment on how you do your treatment.

Keep in mind that the fingertips are usually the last areas for success. It can take upwards of several months to get them fully dry.

For those of you that would prefer the less painful approach, pulsed current is the way to go. I no longer suffer through my ionto treatments.

Here's a link to a pulsed unit costing $140:

Hi Guys,

I'm a new member here, and I just wanted to say thanks for great information you guys have posted to help others who have a tendency towards sweating. Over the past 3-4 years, I've tried a couple different topical options (of which sweat block works pretty decent I have found), but I would like to stop applying copious amounts of aluminum to my skin
The only place I'm concerned about my sweating is on my face, especially the forehead, but also my cheeks..and pretty much the rest of my face for that matter.

I'm very interested in trying the iontophoresis treatments, but I'm looking for a somewhat cost effective option to pursue. I'm replying here, because I can see you've made your own Ferrari, while Sprawling I can see you've suggested the a pulsed unit costing $140. My question really is for either or both of you.
First off, when I click that link above, it takes me to a lot of machines. Is there one specific one that would be preferable for the face application. I've seen other sites that sell the machine with a face mask attachment separately available. Would I be able to buy this mask attachment and use it with one of these machines? Would I have to make my own?

Also, is there a more comprehensive, step by step guide to making your own machine that could be used on the face? Excuse for needing to be walked through it a little more, I'm just rather new to this technology.

Thanks for the help guys. Hope you all have a nice day.

Jim,

Here's a new link to a pulsed ionto machine
Digital High Volt Pulsed Galvanic Stimulator - DIGIGAL

They do make face masks, but you'll need to search for them online.

Youtube has some homemade ionto videos using 2-3 lantern batteries.

There was a posting a month or so ago that a couple of us posted some ionto alternatives. One person is using an AC to DC converter.

The universal laptop power supply with adjustable current is an option under $25.

All these options can work just as well or the same as the expensive ionto machines.

Yes, I just followed the every instructions on youtube video and just put some tweaks on it.

I'm not a medical guy but i think homemade ionto isn't applicable treatment to face cause i think it's not safe or maybe the machine that sprawling is referring to can be use for face treatment, just do a research first before trying.

Can you elaborate on the 2-3 second interval thing? Do you switch polarity every 3 seconds after you've done direct current for 15 minutes? Is that what you're saying? Please help me!

Sounds like he switches polarity within 3 seconds of doing a 15 minute session. Honestly, I wouldn't worry about that. I've taken 15 minute breaks between polarities. I've been doing ionto treatment for 10 years. Used direct current, pulsed current and experienced all sorts of problems and created all kinds of solutions. What works for you taday, may not work for you tomorrow. Kind of like our lives.

Hi,
Thanks for these infos and guide..
I wanted to know if you had any instructions to use this kind of installation for armpits.
I was thinking with a kind of sponge , but I tried and it didn't work.
Maybe it depends which kind of sponge? How to plug it? Should I link the sponge directly with alligator clip or should I put something in iron into a sponge? Maybe some salt can help?
Please help me if you can

Thank you for your help!

Putting something iron in the sponge makes sense. Make sure you are using a very absorbant sponge. You can connect the alligator clip directly to the sponge also, but it might have a tendency to shear off.

I do an at home treatment as well but wondering how long between treatments have you gone.
Think we can train our bodies to go longer. I am hoping to get it to only once a month!
I am slowly increasing my days
What's the longest you have gone?
Does doing it longer make it last longer?

Unless you have very mild HH I sincerely doubt that we can train our bodies to go longer without ionto treatment. Very mild would be slight dampness, instead of constant wetness or on the verge of dripping.
The longest I went without treatment was for 14 days. At one time my maintenance schedule was every 10-12 days. These days it's every 4th or 5th day. Over the years I had to change how often treatment is needed.
Doing it longer will not make it last longer.

As far as bringing it on a plane. This topic has come up before and it seems nobody has an issue flying. I used to travel with 2 40lb bags of power tools and it always made it through. Inspected yes!
