Hi piggy,
I am also 30, live in the UK, and have had social anxiety since my teens. I have never had a proper job, and have had no real-life friends since the age of 18. Recently, I made a few online friends on this site and another similar one. Although I no longer feel totally unlikeable, life is still bad. Having people be kind to me online shows me what I am missing by having noone in real life. I'm happy when chatting on MSN, but offline I feel lonely and insecure. Internet friendships can be short-lived; I fear that soon I will be completely alone again.
