hi everyone. i am so glad i found this site and several others. i first had plantar hyperhidrosis two years ago. i thought it was athlete's foot. it did not go away until about half a year later over the summer. i stopped thinking about it. but two months ago, it came back. i had to withdraw from school because of this so i am at my wit's end. the odor is horrendous. i don't understand it. i went to a podiatrist and he told me it is from stress, which could be true because I was emotional when it started. but i am always emotional so I don't understand why it happens sometimes and does not for others. he also gave me drysol and i used it for three days but it caused severe peeling and scaling beneath my feet. i don't know what else to do. i read on here and other places that people have used robinul successfully? does anyone have any advice? i can't go back to school until this is cured.

Hey I have palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis but it's a lil worse on my feet than hands. I would suggest you look into Hydrosal Gel buy typing that in google. Also you can try buying an extra strenght antipersparent usually usued for under arms but instead use it for the feet. This is what i do a lot and it helps throughout the day. I also recommend you go visit sweathelp.org which is unbiased information on hyperhidrosis treatments. There is something called iontophoresis which is an electric waterbath that I'm going to try out that they say is 85% effective. Another method that you can try is soaking your feet in a tub of water with tea bags and this should help tho i found that too time consuming. There' lots of things you can try the idea should be to control it as much as possible.

If you had a problem with odor, you may want to try Foramalz. It has a 10% solution of formaldehyde. Nasty stuff but it works. I got a prescription from my Dr. for this and it took care of that in no time. The sweating part may still be there but it may be a little more tolerable.

Hey Franklin, I have Lazer Formalyde Solution. It didn't work when I tried it a year ago but maybe I need to do it for a few days consistently. How long before your problem went away and how severe was it?

Thanks surfsider, I will look into Hydrosal Get.

I have general body hh, which sucks. I have been taking Avert, which is glycopyrrolate, 1.5 miligrams and works really, really well. The suggestion for soaking the area in black tea was recommended by Dr.Oz on the oprah show...apparently it helps with sweating and odor problems..it is time consuming but you can try that if you don't want to take the medication. I found the Avert on pharmacy.ca and pick it up from the pharmacy myself, as it's located where I live (downtown Toronto). It's about $22 canadian for 30 capsules, 1.5 mgs. I wish you the best!

By the way, glycopyrrolate is a medication used during surgeries and also to help people who suffer from excessive drooling. It suppresses body fluid excretion, or something to that effect. Best of luck finding the right treatment for you!
p.s.There's also a DIY iontophoresis treatment you can try. It is posted on the forum
