I was just wandering if anyone has suffered has suffered hair loss due anxiety?

I have 4 bald patches, 3 of which are on my face and can be seen when i leave myself unshaven for too long, so they are not too bad as long as i shave, i also have one on the back of head which looks like i went to a dodgy hairdressrs, wherther or not these are due too anxiety i have never bothered to find out but i was wondering if anyone has suffred this and if you done anything about it?

I started experiencing a little receding of the hairline a few years ago, most likely due to anxiety and after trying a few different products I decided to just shave my head :) Now I shave it every day and forget about it. Sometimes having a shaved head makes my anxiety worse though as I'm in the minority.

I'm sure that you've had this checked, but make sure your hair loss isn't from iron, protein, or zinc deficiency.

My hair falls out in big clumps sometimes, but its ok I've plenty to spare. Scottish you might want some to cover up your facial patches.

I'm also suffering from hair loss but I've never thought this problem might be related to anxiety...However, can smb tell me if this problem could be caused by pills as Prozac?

It has been proven that stree can cause hair loss. I've started losing hair as well, but it runs in the family and is just generic pattern baldness. Doesn't bother me at all; if I'm not supposed to have hair anymore, I'm not supposed to have hair anymore.

My mother's side of the family all have very thick hair including me! My grandad is going to be 80 soon and he still has a full head of hair! My Uncle is the same and he is 50. So I don't think I'll go bald on my head.

On the flipside though my facial hair isn't that great. As a little experiment I've been trying to grow a beard over the summer just to see what it would look like lol and as my facial hair is a very very light shade of blonde, if you were to stand a couple of yards away from me I look cleanshaven! My amazing party trick :D

Most 17 year olds don't have much facial hair. ;) At your age, I only had facial hair along the sides of my jaw. At the age of 21, I can now sport a full beard; the goatee even connects to the 'stache.
