Does it actually affect the site? I don't notice anything except for the new marquee...
Hehe. It's like a weird september fools. Who would hack a site for mental disorder support? That's just plain mean.

I think these guys do this simply because they can and there is nothing constructive about it. I'm not impressed with their accomplishments or whatever juvenile reason they have for doing it.

what does this mean in relation to the site? has it damaged it in some way?? when will it go away? it feels like outsiders can read what we write?? i dont really understand what it means?

It means that:
1) Hackers have replaced the marquee.
2) The site owner/master/moderator does not exist, or he would have fixed the site by now.
3) The site still works. This means the hackers aren't particularly malicious.
4) Outsiders have ALWAYS been able to read what's written here; it's an open forum on the Web.

i know its an open forum, sorry i didnt really explain myself, it just made me feel that i had been exposed as no ones knows about my phobia, when i clicked on the home page, it panicked me :lol: . i thought that maybe somehow this website meant that my family would be able to view it.

i cant understand why someone would do it though??

Your family would have to be really cunning to find YOU among the various other Guests on this site . Sounds like you were having a classic SA reaction to the hack

I don't know where the webmaster vanished to, but he hasn't done anything on the site since I first started viewing it over a month ago. Ditto for any moderators that allegedly exist

The hackers probably targeted SPW for the reason people climb mountains-- because it's there. In the end they've just helpfully highlighted the lack of webmastership here
