Genital/Groin HH

Help, please.

I have suffered from axillary HH for about 5 years now and have got it largely under control.

In the last few weeks, however, I have started to get severe sweating in my groin, my buttocks, inner thighs, etc. I haven't changed my diet and I'm not at all fat. I have ordered Klima's Gent's Antiperspirant designed for this, but haven't received it yet.

If anybody has any tips for dealing with groin HH, I would be very appreciative. (Especially on dealing with the odour.)

Desperately,

David.

@ Sprawling - I am wearing cotton underwear, and that does work to absorb the sweat, though it is still very uncomfortable. Unfortunately it doesn't help with the odour at all.

@ Daz - Really? Have you tried it?

For sweat, wear 2 pairs of underwear. It might make it hotter, but it will help absorb sweat. For smell, I would just recommend cleaning the area well each morning.

How much and how often do you apply it? Fresh or bottled?

Thanks for the response.

I just tested it out yesterday.

Bought a fresh lemon and cut 1 average sized slice off of it then rubbed it on the skin, let it air dry then applied antiperspirant then clothes. I think fresh would be more effective.

It might sting a for a little while "down there" if applying it, I'm not sure. Give it a try :D

Yes, I hear you about the uncomfortable part of how the cotton absorbs the sweat. I wish I had a better suggestion. It's something I have just learned to live with over many years. I just hate it when the sweats starts absorbing in ones pants. I guess I was always able to deal with it better than the hands and feet sweating.

The lemon idea sounds pretty interesting. I hope it works for all those of you that need it.

That's the problem - it doesn't matter how well I clean it and dry off, the sweat still smells awful. Fortunately, sweat from my armpits (when they are clean) has no smell.

I tried using cornstarch today and I think it helped a little. So I'll keep going with that for the moment.

Why not just try to keep your legs as closed as possible. Most of the time the smell doesn't escape, atleast not for me.

I also suffer slightly from this. I found spraying some antiperspirant in that general area helps me quite a bit. Sometimes depending on the weather I will use talc powder in combination. Loose fitting cotton underwear is the best I have found.

I have some antiperspirant coming in the post, and I am going to get some loose cotton underwear today, and I have started to use some powder. Hopefully these things, in combination with a coming winter (I'm in Australia), will provide me with some relief.

I always wear dark pants/shorts. If possible just walk around to "air out". I usually shower at least twice a day. Lemon scented hand wipes are also great and easy to carry with you for the smell issue.
