Still playing Animal Crossing:New Leaf. My town has finally achieved perfect status. Other than that, I haven't really played anything.

Anyone has Guns of Icarus Online? A friend of mine bought a 4-pack and gave me one of them. He hasn't been able to play since then though, and I don't really want to play it by myself.
So if you want to play, speak up. I don't have any experience, I only completed the tutorials.

The Witcher 3 and Dragon Age: Inqusition are at the top of my most anticipated right now. There's also Thief, but I'm a bit sceptical on that one.

I don't have a X Box One or PS4 yet, but MGS 5 looks fantastic. I may have to switch allegiances and go Sony this gen. :/

I don't know when the next Arkham game is coming out, but that one too, definitely.

Finished Super Metroid for the first time in my life. blind run, had 69% completition rate for item collecting. Final playtime was 5 hours 41 minutes.

GOD DAMN, what a great game, I didn't felt this much into a game for YEARS. It has that retro magic when games were games and not overly-expensive over-glorified CGI B-Movies...

Next up in my list is to tackle Metroid Fusion.

I've been playing The Sims 3 a lot lately, and one of my all-time favorites, Age Of Empires 3.

With AOE3, I basically create my own scenarios where my kingdom is completely bordered by cliffs, then I just sit-back and wait for the computer to show up while I watch my battlements take care of them from the clifftops.

It's strangely therapeutic. Who would imagine? A socially phobic person creating a world where no one can possibly get to him, and he can destroy all the bad guys from a mile away? ha ha

Ugh, my computer got a virus that embeds itself into the internet settings. I've since cleared the virus and haven't been able to get online. The unfortunate thing about Steam and Battlenet is you can't play any of their games without internet connection... Incredibly frustrating. I've beaten minesweeper like a million times, UGHHH!

So I decided to give the Famicom some love...

So first, I played the most metal game ever made.

Yes, most metal game. Are we all here familiar with Ronnie James Dio? Do we know his hit song, "Holy Diver"?

There's a game of that. Only in Japan.

Here's the plot:

It is the 666th year of the world of magic. The Black Slayer, Demon King of the Underground Dark Empire, has extended the world of darkness and weakened the power of King Crimson whose wisdom has guided the world of magic for generations.

The 16th Crimson Emperor Ronnie James Dio the 4th entrusted his two infant sons, Randy Rhoads Crimson and Zack Wylde Crimson, to his faithful servant Ozzy. The three escaped the forces from another dimension in the hope to bring light back into the world.

The next 17 years were difficult but Randy, Zack, and Ozzy devoted themselves to the cause of Holy Magic Justice. The Black Slayer had further extended his empire over the countryside and the interdimensional forces were even more powerful. Randy needed to find the Royal Coat Of Arms of the Crimson to battle the demons. He set out alone to carry out the will of his surrogate father Ozzy who had passed away. Thus begins the Legend Of The Holy Diver.

It's a really challenging game, you won't beat this in one sitting. It mixes elements from Zelda 2, Castlevania and Metroid from a gameplay perspective.

And Randy becomes a dragon. We can't deny that's pretty metal. Brütal Legend be damned.

Other game I decided to give love is a favorite from a bootleg famiclone cartridge. The Japanese version of The Adventures of Bayou Billy, Mad City.

Why the Japanese version? Unlike the American version, this one's reasonably challenging, as opposed to Bayou Billy's balls-busting difficulty. Making the game actually enjoyable, instead of a chore to play.

This gon' be a fun weekend.

Welp, finished this right now. Forgot to pick up the Red Tunic but eh, whatever, I beated the game despite the handicap against me. Had to rely on a blue potion and 2 fairies though.

Feels good.

I would used to play solo skirmish on the easiest difficulty and just try and create the nicest looking town without having to worry about enemy units.

And then when I had enough, I'd send in a whole bunch of mortars and cavalry and watch all the pretty explosions. :)
