Feel uncomfortable about religion

Well there is this girl that likes me. I'm interested in her but she is a heavy Christian where is I'm not religious. I don't really follow any religion I consider myself Agnostic.

Well this girl told me that she would really like to date a Christian which I found ok. But then she started asking if I would try and become a Christian for her. Honestly I don't want to and got uncomfortable so I just talked nicely about the subject.

I told her though I was willing to learn and attend stuff with her but it wouldn't mean I am following I just don't want to be rude about not being religious.

This is the question you should ask yourself:

Am I ready to commit myself into something for a girl whom I am not sure to spend the rest of my life with?

Think about it carefully:

If you really intend to spend the rest of your life with her and marrying her afterwards, well I would definitely say yes, go for it.

Otherwise, well... hell no, don't do it, religion isn't something to be messed around with.

Erm...well I'd be careful. I'd make it very clear that you have no intention of following the religion. You don't want to formulate a relationship--friendship or otherwise--on a lie.

I wouldnt be able to do it. I respect that people have their beliefs, but I couldnt personally involve myself in all that. I am an R Rated guy living an R Rated life.

Yea I couldn't do it I told the girl straight up that I was fine with mine and she doesn't want a relationship. So I'm perfectly happy with that and feel pretty good relief.

You want to know how I got these scars?
I'd be concerned that she was asking you to change your beliefs for her. That - for me - would be a huge red flag..

I consider myself an Atheist. I'm fine with people who want to believe in whatever, but just don't shove it down other ppl's throats.

Exactly how I felt. I'm glad I didn't go anywhere with her. She made me quite uncomfortable.

Well I think you're in the right to not force yourself to try to believe, but some religions pressure people to try to convert others. Tell them their loved ones will go to hell if they don't and all that.

I'm uncomfortable about religion for a different reason. I say I'm Agnostic but it's more like I think there are more important things to do than think about it past a point, when I don't even have the means to prove or disprove it myself. But some people are just so focused on fighting about it.
